Mulligan? I have to admit you missed what this guy was telling you in an interview and then you called out Evergreen Park Jim for making some claims.

Callis explains to you an major changes in baseball, for sure to have Jerry Reinsdorf input. He even added 'Jerry Reinsdorf is more powerful than Bud Selig in many ways"

Callis then added the Sox spend the least on the draft and minor league development.

Callis then spoke of the new minor league player cap and how it hurts the Cubs.

Evergreen Park Jim then calls up and adds the 1+1+1 for Mulligan, which Mulligan responds with the fact the Royals and Pirates have been overpaying drafted players for years.

Mulligan? If these teams have been doing it for years, doesnt it make it more suspicious that after one year of the Cubs doing this, it was legislated against very quickly?

I am sure Sox nation will have another take on this one......proceed.

Sounds like Jerry is just doing his business better than the Cubs.

Jerry would be like the hot dog stand owner, that got all the local government tax breaks, to build his place, just nobody goes to his place. So while his business skills are superior, the business itself is not better.

I guess Jim Callis thinks so too then? and maybe you can explain why he thinks this....as 90% of the post was about his comments.

I think you are making way too much of this. But you always do anytime you suspect it pertains to the Sox/Jerry in any way, shape, or form.

OK, JR has wanted to do this for years, but maybe finally got enough votes in his direction. That bastard drafted Jeff Weaver in the first round and wouldn't negiotiate a contract just to screw Boras! Don't fuck with uncle Jerry!

Probably.

Though bigfan will rant and rave about how Jerry knew Theo was gonna be here to he wanted to screw the Cubs! You know, big brother and all....

I don't have any idea about it. Do you other than what you heard on Beavis and Butthead this morning?

Everything Jerry does you think is set out, with cause, to fuck with the Cubs. I think you're nuts.

See Frank, well before Theo got here, Jim Hendry overspent on a number of players. I am 100% sure this caught the attention of Bud Selig.

Additionally, this is Jim Callis's theory, while I agree with him, I didn't originate it, but it makes 100% perfect sense.

Facts are the Sox, as an organization, do care what the Cubs do, because the 2 are competing businesses in this town.

There is a direct correlation between the Sox decline in attendance, when they want on ONTV v The Cubs drastic rise in attendance when they joined National cable.

The Sox are now still working out of that hole.

This has been spoken to by Brooks Boyer on WSCR.

Yet, I am sure you will disagree.

He also warned against drastically rising FA salaries and when no one payed attention, payed huge for Albert Joey Bell...with a contract that allowed him out of it after a year.

I fully believe JR is a petty, overly punative guy.

Interestingly enough, when the Reinsdorf group originally purchased the team and Einhorn was the frontman, they didn't seem to recognize this obvious fact and they attempted to promote the Sox as "Chicago's AL team". As if they didn't understand the deep divide between the fanbases. Very strange for a couple guys who grew up in the greater New York area. I know Jerry was a Dodgers fan and I'm sure he never pulled for the Yankees.
