He put his call into M&H today, and per Hanley he took some side shot at the Sox, I don't know what it was, but 2 mins later caller Phil from 'Over by der" wants to tell 'Dat Guy from Evergreen Park, to stop worrying about what the Sox are doing, concentrate on your own team!"

YEAH JIM! STAY OUT OF WHITE SOX BUSINESS.

But I have to ask, why Do Sox fans get so upset when Cubs fans say anything about the Sox?

I don't care when Sox fans talk about the cubs. I welcome the questions of what secret potions are being used in the minors, or why fans don't watch the game as closely as Sox fans do or why we don't have bacon on a stick.

Says the guy who started a thread about a Sox fan talking about the Cubs.

Sox fans never, ever talk about the Cubs. Never. Ever, ever, ever.

I have never been at the Cell and witnessed numerous Sox fans high fiving because the Cubs lost to some random NL team that night.
Never, ever, ever.

Right, I don't care, so I started the thread, just trying to figure out why it gets Sox fans so upset when a Cubs fans says things about the Sox.

That guy today sounded like someone here might sound after I make a Sox comment.

now look, I'm biased, everybody knows I'm a Cubs fan.

But I was offered great seats last year at what ever the Sox call their park.

I wasn't looking to prove a point, didn't walk in with any preconceived notions. But 2 things:

1. Great park, great food
2. First thing I hear out of other Sox fans mouths-"Adam Dunn sucks" and "man, great to see the Cubs lose again last night"

No joke.

No arguing with #1, at least the food part. You obviously sat downstairs.
The "Adam Dunn sucks" thing is new - only in the last couple of months of last year. Other people have been pointing out that he sucks for much longer.

They've been saying the "yay - Cubs lost!" thing for...........ever.

Yet here you are on a message board complaining and carrying on about White Sox fans doing this or that.

Get your shit straight.

I am not complaining at all, it is just a simple question, not even close to a complaint. I am not complaining about anyone carrying on. Just wondering why WHITE SOX BUSINESS is so hands off to Sox fans. Cub business is always open for everyone to comment on and have a discussion.

Did he also correct the hosts if they happened to say "Evergreen Park Jim"?

I'm curious as to why people who listen to sports radio would think that one random caller is the basis for the white sox fan thought collective....
That guy represents himself...and that's it.

I think Jim only represents people with "Evergreen Park" in their moniker.

This is the same guy who has 29 posts in the Sox section over the last 48 hours.

are there any mental facilities in Evergreen Park?

That's where I took my first breaths on earth by the way. Not a mental facility. Evergreen park.

As a White Sox fan I'm not any more interested in the Cubs or their fans than any of the other teams and fan bases in baseball.

I don't really follow baseball anymore, but have always leaned Sox when I paid attention from time to time. I know it's been nine years, but you'd think the WS title should have done a lot to remove completely the inferiority complex from the minds of Sox fans.

Nowadays both teams suck and everything, but I don't care. That title nine years ago is enough for me as a Sox fan to know which team has been more relevant success-wise over the past fifteen years or so, and as such I don't care about the Cubs and the LeBron-esque preemptive celebration some did when Theo took over, and nor should Sox fans IMO. I hope both teams do well, but that 2005 title will always have the upper hand in this intra city battle for me.

That caller is repeated many times over the years. it could be the same guy calling every year, yet I doubt it.

Just look at the smaller sample size here of anger from guys like Frank. I could make fun of bacon on a stick and within 12 minutes he will post about how bad the food is at Wrigley and he is right, the food is bad, but when the highlight of my teams marketing campaign coming into a season is Bacon on a stick, or racing announcing penii, yes, it's gonna be made fun of. I assume everyone here has had bacon, but putting it on a stick and letting it sit in a steamer bin for 4 hours is going to make it better? lol

I will admit that I am entertained by the anger displayed by many in Sox nation, from the announcers to the former GM to the pitching coach to many fans, but I still have to ask why?

And I not sure why me asking it in a thread is responded to with "Says the guy who made 5 comments about the Sox?". I will then infer that your response is that because I make fun of your team you get angry? until I get a better answer.

He called today saying that this was the best possible things for both clubs, the Sox winning and Cubs losing. The Cubs lose and get a better draft pick, while the Sox win to stay at .500 and are still 5 games in back of the Tigers.

M&H jumped on him pretty good letting him know that the Sox lost 99 games last year and that .500 this year is a pretty good improvement, more than the Cubs have done in 3 years.

Him and ESteve are the worst, I have no idea why they are even put on the air.
