A girl that young is going to be looking for a family. Looks like you are going to have to put off that retirement another 10 years Mac.

I'll tell you what...I listened to Boers/Bernstein from 2:00 until after the Steve Stone segment, and it was just stupid and lots of laughing at things I don't know you would laugh at.

I turn on Mac, Jurko, Harry, and they're talking sports, but they do it in a way that is entertaining, not just serious sport talk.

Mac, thanks for stopping in and thanks much more for everything you've given to Chicago sports radio the past two decades. You were a huge part of SCR when they started this whole thing, and now you're a refreshing alternative to that station now that they're going down the drain. Your work is much appreciated.

LOL. My post was a work and was written specifically to try to get Mac to respond cause I knew it would hit a nerve (piling on the other posts before me which may or may not have been legit saying similar things).

Guess it worked. Glad you responded. At least it shows you still have some fire left in you.

He was responding to the Marlboro post. Nice try though, Rod.

Mac I was the guy who suggested that you use every last dollar of your expense account.

1. Cmon Mac, I was just busting your balls. The same way you and Jurko do with Harry. Also the same way you do with Carm and Silvy when you guys refer to them as gay. Obviously I have no idea how much you spend on your expense account.

2. I still think that you use alot of sick days. You only have 3 left and 5 more personal days. I'll be keeping tabs. Just kidding. In the end I know you care less about what I think of you taking days off. Truth be told I really don't care either. Just given you a hard time.

3. The biggest complaint is when they Sub J Hood for you. Most people think that he is horrible for reasons I'm sure you've read on this board. Have Space Ball get a better sub when your gone.

4. You say your at work 3 hours before your shift. But cmon, I know how that 3 hours is spent.

-- Half an hour fighting with Jurko and Harry about what to get for lunch

-- Half an hour eating your lunch

-- Half an hour discussing the line for the nights sporting events with Adam and Harry before you guys call your bookie.

--That leaves and hour and a half left to come up with a crappy web pole question and plan your segments. LOL

Your show is good most days Mac I've been listening since the Score days

Mac you shouldn't care if Jurko and Harry ridicule you for posting here. Whats wrong with it. I'm sure your the type of guy that responds to your e mail. This is a way to reach a larger group of people with one response. Just a thought

Mac, you said that no on air host in town is as nurturing with their production staff as you are with yours.

My only question is does Adam suck of your left niple and Ben your right or is it vice versa. LOL

He was responding to Rod Axel's post along with a few others. Nice try though, Marlboro (especially since you posted as marlboro so shortly after your "guest" post.

Mac got worked big time thanks to me. He freaked out cause he thought there was an uproar against his work ethic when we were just busting his balls. At least he was a good sport in his reply rather than devolving into a neanderthal like others. That's why Mac is cool (but still a pussy at times however when he takes days off).

Contrary to what mac said I only liked him when he was earning 300k. I fell in love when he doubled that.

I will reevaluate my love for mac after every contract negotiation.

I don't understand why all the on air hosts make it such an issue when it comes to posting on this or any board. Is it because they think that people that post on meesage boards are "geeks"? I just don't get it, sure the level of intelligence isn't always sky high but you have a way to solicit feedback and communicate with your customers. Last time I checked you big bad hosts need customers right? Mac you obviously understand the importance of having a fully engaged team (i.e. taking care of producers, working with the sales team etc), this is just another way to understand the listeners and for them to better understand you. Just look at the suckfest the started after you posted! Don't you think you may have increased the chance that those posters will be listening to the show now?

I just don't get it.

What's with all the Mac dick sucking? This thread started with people bashing Mac but as soon as he posted everyone changed their tune. Grow some balls! If you didn't like something Mac said or did stick with it. Just because he has the #1 sports show in Chicago doesn't mean you have to bow down.

The thread tune was changed after my post. I am subliminally controlling all of your minds.

I wasn't trying to kiss mac's ass. My original post criticizing him was done in jest. Obviously, I don't know what he spends on his expense account. I thought most people would pick up my sarcasim.

Mac has often said that it is tough to detect one's mood in print. So I guess I can understand that.

Thanks for having my back, GD. My co-workers will ridicule me for responding, but for the second time, this board as struck a nerve and some of you need some enlightenment.
The first response was regarding my absence following Game 4 of the WS. I was sincere in my apology and I promise you I still regret it, but that horse has left the barn and I can't bring it back.

1. Work ethic. Quick, tell me which host in town has spent the most time training and nurturing his production staff or working in concert with the sales department? It's the same one who is the only host who arrives at the station an average of three hours before his air shift begins. My show is in the front of my mind - not the back - 24/7.

2. Travel budget. I'm paying for the trip to Hawaii to reward four very skilled and dedicated teammates. I also pay for a percentage of our expensive meals/bar bills when we travel to keep corporate off our backs. Suggesting I milk the travel budget for every dime is the dumbest thing I've read on this board and that's a statement.

3. Vacation and sick days. I get five weeks vacation a year, five sick days and five personal days. The next time I use all of those days in ANY category will be the first time. If you're envious because you only get two weeks, I can't help you. Come work with me, and maybe you'll earn a working vacation in Hawaii.

4. Trophy wife. I'm flattered if you think she's pretty. She is, but I need to inform you she loved me when I only was earning 300K a year.

Keep the posts coming; they're very entertaining. I'm a lot of things - impatient, insensitive, a bully, stubborn, sometimes selfish - I grant you all of that, but one thing I've never been and never will be is a mail-it-in, check-cashing, pussy. My record speaks for itself. Thanks for listening, and for entertaining me as much as my gang of bandits and I entertain you.

*creams himself*

My only knock on the show is that it's just too scripted, planned, timed, and rehearsed.

Yes, it's called professional broadcasting. As opposed to the "stream of consciousness" pap on so many other shows. Most professionals in any biz plan their projects/programs, they don't just "wing it". Maybe if more hosts actually planned their shows and thought about what they were going to say before a show, there would be much more intelligent discussions on them. There are a few guys in this town who seem to just show up for their 4 hour on air gig and talk about whatever happens to be in the paper that day or whatever comes into their head. No planning, no forethought, no recognition that they've discussed an issue five days in a row and maybe they should talk about something else. If you like that kind of radio, there are a few shows just perfect for you. Keep it.

Remember when there was talk that when one of the guys would be on vacation, they all would be. I guess that didn't fly.

...unless it's only with Jurko as most of the 'trouble' occurs when Mac and Harry are left alone, or with Corey McPherrin.
