The Board-a-Versary thread made me think that we should have an annual awards/event. Here are some thoughts:

Where: We block out tow or three hours at a local establishment
(potentials: Hooter's, Shoeless Joe's, Shubas)

When: Before a 3pm Bears game or after an MJH remote

Hosted by: The former poster known as Mac

Invites go to: All CSFMB posters (no post limit) and anyone who works on air or in production at WMVP or WSCR or the "all others".

Awards: Rookie of the Year, MVP (Most Valuable Poster), Post of the Year, Pissing Match of the Year, CPOY (Comeback Poster of the Year), Douchebag of the Year, Best avatar, Best Signature, Best retort, etc.

$25 gets you food and drink.

Thoughts?

Sounds like a good time could be had by all. There's a lot of you guys I'd like to meet in person...some of you seem like cool people.

This is making a pretty strong assumption that all board members are Mac, Jurko, and Harry listeners/fans.

Additionally, if it's going to be inclusive to all board members, why post it here? We've been trying to organize something like this in the general discussion section for quite a bit (re: Woodridge's mention of May 19th at Redmond's).

May 19th is fine (I've got to check with the wife), so in the interim we will have to:

1. Secure a host. (I think it would be cool to have Mac).

2. Finalize the awards categories and conduct a private vote.

3. Invite the radio personalities.

4. Order the trophies/t-shirts.

It just ups the ante a bit for the 5/19 at Redmond board get-together. If there's a desire to formalize it bit more, I'd be willing to pitch in on 1-4 above. Otherwise we can just tip a few back at Redmond's without all the hoopla.

Me either Ryan, I thought it was just going to be hanging out. There's going to be far too much crap going on sports-wise (Cubs/Sox) and actually meeting and talking to the faces attached to the avatars, that having some sort of MC there would be sensory overload. Unless it's MC Hammer, MC5, or Mclusky, then it's that's just fine.
