Will Ferrell ruined Wedding Crashers for me. He was painfully awful in that movie.

Are you serious, Beef. That was the funniest part of the movie IMO.

Mom! We need some meatloaf...

good dolphin, you never even saw the movie and you automatically assume overrated? For all the respect you get on this board, that's pretty piss poor on your part. Watch the movie and then come back with that. I thought Carrey wasn't going to be good as Kaufman and I was really blown away. I think that was the movie when I decided the guy could really act.
.

I meant Jim Carey was overrated. The film was definitely not overrated as few saw it.

well I thought you meant Jim Carrey's performance in the movie. It was rated pretty highly and I think deservedly so.

like jaime foxx WAS ray charles and joaquin phoenix WAS johnny cash, jim carrey WAS kaufman. i was a huge kaufman fan growing up, i've always appreciated what he did, and i thought his performance was outright brilliant. the movie, "man on the moon", was a highly underrated film.

whether people blew it up or overexposed it is hardly carrey's fault. he was goddamn awesome. the same thing happened with foxx (who overdid it himself), but he also nailed the role. can't fault them for that.

Good Will Hunting best movie out there, IMO.

"Thanks you"

"No Will, it's not your fault"

GWH definitely makes my top 10 list.

There's a bug in my throat.

God I love that movie - my absolute favorite. That was one of two movies Ben Affleck was good in (the recruiter in Boiler Room was awesome, and was just the right amount of Affleck).

Aren't you forgetting Mall Rats? He played a good asshole in that.

I forget about him in that one, since Jason Lee steals the movie. But definitely a good call.

She told me she was thirty!

wasn't a big fan of "mall rats" but he was also a great asshole in "dazed and confused."

Yeah, but I don't think of him as acting in that one. I get the feeling that is his usual demeanor. Same with Dogma - he didn't really extend himself very much in that. He played a smug, know-it-all prick.

GWH was good, yes. But that scene was quite possibly the gayest scene outside Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

Most of his movies have disappointed - but Anchorman, though I didn't like it much the first time, kills me now. I thought that fight scene was just stupid the first time, but the payoff in the scene after is great.

Haha, that's exactly how I felt about Anchorman. The first time I saw it, I sat there rolling my eyes most the time; but strangely, I felt compelled to see it again after further consideration. Second time through, I laughed my ass off. "Yeah, Brick killed a guy. I've been meaning to talk to you about that. Find yourself a safe house or a relative close by."

Believe it or not, I had just watched that movie again the night before I registered to post on this website.

I should have went with the other movie I watched that night and been "Plenty O'Toole".

I think Sunshine is a good movie. Can't say the same for Irene
