a VERY BORING Monday night for T.V. .I thought 24 was a lack-luster , predictable season finale and the NBA comference final game was a bit preditcable as well .

I have over 800 stations on my dish but I have a hard time finding things to watch . I have no idea how my parents got by with only 2, 5, 7 and 9 back in the day . Oh and channel 44.

Back to the topic at hand:
I thought that the caller had a legit beef. Many people know that HBO shows Soprano's multiple times during the week. Mac was pretty harsh on the guy. I wonder if Mac has ever missed it on a Sunday, but caught it later in the week. Maybe he has...maybe he hasn't, we'll never know. But yesterday two things caught my attention when Mac was going off on one of his listeners:

1. He said "sports is entertainment, not news." I'm not sure I can agree with that "blanket statement".

2. What Mac didn't say. He alluded to it....but never said it. While ripping the caller for expressing his thoughts on the discussion of the Soprano's...... It sounded like Mac wanted to tell the caller that if he didn't like the discussion that was on the air "change the station". Mac never said it....he alluded to it..... but couldn't bring himself to say it. He's not stupid enough to say something like that....but the way he treated one of his listeners the message was pretty clear.

My thoughts about discussing a show or movie..... just give a warning. Or do what my friends and i do.......we will discuss it on Thursday and if you hadn't seen the episode by then......you are SOL.

Thanks for the advice, WR and Hawkeye. I'll look even better in a plaid skirt and saddle shoes when I get closer to two spins. Is blue eye shadow out of vogue?

No, it's still quite popular but must be matched with a pair of pink and white LA Gear shoes. Said shoes must also have at least 2 different pairs of laces on them. Also to be matched with big puffy socks. Your new girlish figure will complement this hip style quite well.

IMHO, film and TV are different animals. This topic really gets me because of the nature of these complaint calls. If you don't want to hear people talk about what's going in the world, including television programs, why listen to talk radio? Puzzling.

Mac,
With all due respect, this is a really lame defense. I watch it on Sunday nights, so it doesn't affect me, but it's a valid argument.

TV shows shouldn't require "the 5 year' rule, but a paid subscription show like the Sopranos should get a "3-day rule" at least.

But then who is talking by the water cooler about a show that played 3 days ago? That ship has sailed. It's not topical conversation anymore. Talk about it when it's the buzz. . . when people just watched it and are still effected by it and want to discuss it.

Yea, you guys act like this is the only radio show that does this. Lots of shows do this. Timely events are going to be talked about. one example is The Tony Kornheiser show which starts with 30 minutes of Sopranos discussion on Mondays. My only gripe would be the way Waddle went about it.

Agreed .... What do people do when they tape a Bears game and head into the office the next day and start telling people "Don't talk about the game I've yet to watch it"! If that's the case I'm telling you the score of the game and what players scored the touchdowns. [/quote]

TV shows are to be discussed the next day.
Your fault if you missed it, sorry bub.
Didn't we notice that CNN broadcasts the results of American Idol the next morning?

Anybody that gets that upset about knowing the ending of a show/sporting event is a rudy poo candy ass. If I want to run around and tell everybody what happened on a show it's my flipping prerogative. Deal with it numb nuts. If your life is ruined by a spoiler then you are a fucking loser putz and you need to get a life. If knowing the ending ruins it for you don't watch it. I'm tired of people thing the world revolves around them and they are more important. A disclaimer beforehand is polite but not necessary.

Spaulding.......... it sounds like you are a selfish prick to me. You say you can do whatever you flipping want to............ but yet you hate people who think the world revolves around them?

People who do whatever they flipping want, without regard to others around them, is itself an act of a person who thinks the world revolves around them because they think they are more important than others.

Yes I'm a selfish prick.

I don't like people who believe the world revolves around them because it conflicts with my belief it revolves around me. :D

You think Ungotz didn't know that you're a woman, or just couldn't come up with a female equivalent of "a prick"?

I quit listening to the Score and I'm almost to that point with WMVP. I'm sorry but don't they say that their a "SPORTS" talk show? I know sometime it's hard everyday to make up stories where there isn't one, but if they want to review TV, movies and the such, get a job on WGN. Plus Mac has been acting more and more like the jerks on WSCR.

Funny place to find yourself, on a message board for sports talk listeners when you are on the verge of jumping ship on the medium.
