I've been really busy today at work, but had I not been, I was about to e-mail either your program or the Waddle & Silvy program about why we weren't hearing about the Santana situation from the Cubs camp. Thanks for actually bringing it up, as it makes all the sense in the world to me, particularly now that we hear the Yankees are supposedly out of the derby, leaving only 2 teams vying for his services.

Too busy to email but enough time to post on CSFMB. At least you've got your priorities right.

Did he happen to mention Rozner's column this morning talking about this same subject?

To get Santana, he wants a contract extension - or all bets are off.

...and I'm sure the Cubs would only trade away 'the farm' if that were the case.

Perhaps the lack of 'new ownership' in place (as that strange little Zell man is gonna sell the team) is the real problem here.

Kind of ironic that Cubs fans have been crying for years about the Tribune Company selling the Cubs - and now they have their wish - and they're in a state of flux when they could be putting the hammer down and going for it.
