Vince that's Burish, yeah? Mac, I couldn't agree more. Back in the day I worked for a company that did quite a bit of buisness wiht the Hawks, Bulls and Sox. HANDS down the best in the bunch were the hockey players.

Hockey is truly a team sport, much like my other sporting love; Lacrosse.

I support Mac in this, but I will need to check with Pappy to see if that rating system is flawed also.

Are you a Cubs fan?

Yes, and its very hard for me to sit through 9 innings of any game without being pretty much wasted. Mostly though, its because there always is at least two fans next to me that talk business through the entire game and is way too distracting.

Same could be said for Cub pitchers ;)

I've been to Hockey & Nascar & they are the only two events that I watch backwards. In other words...when is it over?

Hockey is a little better with the speed-up rules recently added...and Nascar I simply choose to people watch...and check out scantily clad women.

Mac, I love basketball and have been to probably 100 NBA games in my life. I've been to less than 10 hockey games and all of those were in Pittsburgh and LA; nary a Black Hawks' game. But even with my hoops bias and that 10/1 experience, I agree with you. Hockey is much more compelling, entertaining and interesting in person than the NBA. And thanks for the reminder that I really must take in a Hawks game.

I do think a big time college hoops game is slightly more interesting than hockey, but that's just me.

I went last year when they gave tickets away for free

Maybe I'll give it another shot next year with this new team/attitude, but I hated it. Only thing I liked was hearing Gene Honda and that guy who also sells the programs at the Cell. I got there early so it was real empty, the employees acted like I was the first sign of civilization they'd seen in years. Then the lame sound they play and everyone getting all worked out when there was a fight. Felt like a mix of the South and Wisconsin. The butch women sitting near me helped too (though there was some nice talent around other parts of the stadium)

Also didn't follow some of the ooo's and 'come on!', since I don't really know the game, felt out of place, maybe I just don't like hockey

And if you send him to a game where both teams play dump and chase, he would unequivocably be right :P

I would love for someone who loves hockey more than basketball that saw tonight's GS/LA NBA game to tell me why the NHL gets more exciting than that.

I didnt watch the game as I have been too busy to watch basketball these days, but there were some red wing/avalanche games in the day that were awesome to watch and probably comparable to a suns lakers game.

Darren-the line "The world needs ditch diggers too" was from Caddyshack. Jurko has repeated it, but it was a line in the movie that he borrows and did not originate. But I digress-I myself have been to a pair of Blackhawk games this season and had a blast. It reminded me of the old days, as these players have the kind of hustle and skill that reminds me of Hawk teams I cared about. There were so many seasons where the team was a waste of time any money. But those years are over, if things continue as is. It seems as though the Bulls have too many players who are only moderately interested these days. Under Skiles, they had been a hustling, fun team to watch (before this season) but now, THEY, are the waste of time any money. Both sports are fun and exciting, if the team is a skilled team that serves up real hustle. But hockey as Mac pointed out, just is not a great television sport. I hope the station puts together a few dates next year for listeners. The station would be wise to expand coverage of this up and coming, exciting team.

Speaking of goalie fights, Patrick Roy's kid got into a good one last night...
