I actually got up earlier for this event than I do for work.

Got out to Seven Bridges to meet up with W_Z and Frank. No sign of spmack at that time. We went into the clubhouse and were greeted by the MJH team of people. Got myself a well made bloody mary to start the days events. It was a little cool outside, but it was actually pretty comfortable. However this didn't stop the Tiny One from asking if they have hot chocolate available to start his man day off.

Golfing was good to start off. Frank goes up first, tells us he never plays, and on a difficult par 3 on 15 he sticks one on the green 20 feet from the pin. Not bad for someone who "doesn't play." I too got on the green and Zack was just off the green. Not bad for three guys that have played maybe 3 rounds of golf in the past year between the three of us. We were a man down with no spmack in sight yet and we finished at +1 for the few holes we played. On 18 the rain came pouring and thats when spmack showed up on our hole. I've decided spmack may be the love child of Marcus Robinson and ER Mekhi Phifer - not 8 Mile Mekhi Phifer.

We all are told to get back to the clubhouse due to lightning. Harry's mom was one of the servers though I was told later Mac said the woman was about Harry's age so we decided sister. Jurko rounded up ten people to play Hold'em while we waited for the lightning. I got suckered in. Didn't do too shabby. I won a hand and finished 5th out of 10 so at least I held my own. The guy who won was one of Deli's friends I swear this guy had never played before. One time he layed down a queen and an 8 and declared "Damn, thought I had that hand." We had to inform him that he actually had a flush and he did indeed win that hand. After that moment he had enough chips to stay in on almost every hand and continued to lock out no matter how crappy his cards were thereafter. I actually went out when I knew I was going to be nickeled and dimed out after the next two hands so I made my move with an ace and a king. This guy hangs in on a 9 of hearts and 3 of diamonds. I pretty terrible hand that most pro's would fold right off the bat. Not this guy. Flop goes down up comes a 9, 6, and a 2. The turn produces a Jack. The river gives this guy another 9. Unbelieveable. He won hands like that all day. As they say always better to be lucky than good. I wasn't expecting to necessarily win on my hand, but didn't think some dude with a 9 and 3 of different suits would stay in on my "all in" and win! I would have won two hands that I folded half way through knowing my cards were not good enough only to see him win on a King high and a pair of 10's. Still it was a fine time. I finished ahead of Jurko so I at least got that.

Golf resumed for a few of us and thats when things just got down right stupid - in a good way. Frank continued to hit the ball dead on. He just has a natural swing. He could probably be pretty good if we could teach him how to putt. Spmack...well, let's say the golf swing was not as natural. However he had one hell of an out in a soaked up bunker on 2. The drink and snack girl made her way after we played hole 1 and Frank and Zack seemed pretty smitten with her. On hole 3 Frank decided to play his second shot out of the pond it rolled into. He hiked up his pants, took his shoes and socks off and swung about three times before somehow getting the ball out of the water. Pretty damn funny.

Horses at Arlington and I gotta say this year they got it right for the Manniversary. The Miller Lite party deck was pretty good and completely stocked with free food and drinks. I really had that much to drink, but I started to get pretty sick as a sinus migraine made its way. Was pretty painful but hung in there for a couple hours before having to sit down. Cheese raviolis and buffalo chicken bites were fantastic. For some reason Mac wasn't happy about the set up which I couldn't quite figure out why other than the free food ended at 4:00 or so. Everybody won on horses, but not like Hawkye did last year. I made my money back. Harry actually picked numerous winners this year. W_Z talked Justin's ear off. I gotta give it to Justin though. He listened the whole time as W_Z moved from buzzed to drunk. Say what some of you want about Justin, but he's always willing to listen to a listener whether he agrees with him or not. I know a lot of people that have management positions like that that wouldn't bother listening to critiques from others...especially ones from someone who was in the condition of W_Z at that point.

Thanks to Mac, Jurko, Harry, Justin, Adam, Danny (who now apparently hates me), Jim Pastor, JP, John Cravens, and whoever else had a hand in making that event a great time. It was a much better set up at Arlington than the first Manniversary. The crowd of 80 wasn't nearly as much fun as the group from last year's, but my group of W_Z, Frank, and spmack were a blast. Sorry I got so sick there at the end of the day.

Finally a big thanks to Doug for allowing me to go this year. I appreciate the invite and it was a much needed break from everything.

Indeed as I've slathered the board already with yesterday's events, I'm glad to see another post about it--yeah there was definitely a point where I was "drunk" but NOT drunk like the drunk i was at ginger's ale house--I was friendly, but definitely rambling. I know a made a few good points to Justin and then probably just kept repeating those points, and he nodded a lot. But I think he did really listen to the criticisms I was saying and he did say earlier he appreciated my honesty.

I did forget to mention the food--it was pretty outstanding, although the buffalo bites caught up with me later on that evening.

My sister also called me letting me know that she heard my name being mentioned on the air and called me a "dork". She likes to refer to me as that, a "radio dork"...which is true so I can't say anything--I am generally a dork anyway.

I don't think I was smitten with the snack girl but I definitely was in the mood to flirt. The girls at the show that were breaking everything down at the end were cute as well, and hard working. That's hot.

Everybody knows all about the best laid plans, but it still turned out to be a kick ass day. It was great fun.

I'd agree with this. You were not tanked, but you were in that drunk rambling I am going to repeat my point in ten different sentences talk  Justin enjoyed it.

good stuff guys, glad to hear Justin didn't body slam W-Z off of a parking meter this time around. Although that would be tough to do wearing a backpack.

Having met Frank briefly one night I can't believe he has a natural golf swing, will take your word for it!

Having seen Ryan swing, I question his ability to recognize a natural golf swing.

The day was defeintly a blast. I know Mac seemed irked at a few different things from the day, but I thought we were all extremely well taken care of throughout the day. Mac, we did see the drink cart in the morning, and when we hit the course again after the rain we stopped her and she gave us like 7 beers and a few bags of chips. The food at Arlington was awesome. Those toasted raviolis were the shit.

THere's a lot more than just 7 bridges at this course. Most of the bridges really need some new boards too. A few of them were quite rickety and I thought one of the carts was gonna head into the drink actually. First hole we were at was 15, and I swear to you guys again I do NOT golf. Other than the driving range this past week, I have probably golfed a grand total of 36 holes in my life. So yeah I just walked up to the ball and hit it. No practice swings, no thinking, just fucking hit the ball. Since I don't know what I'm really doing anyway, I figure there's no point in strategery here. 15 feet from the cup. Probably the shot of my life.

I forget which hole, but Zack sunk a pretty long put to save par us. Actually, I think it was the second hole...set up by Ryan's nice tee shot. Played another couple holes, SPMack showed up, and then the skies opened up and said "I hate you Coztansa" and we were relugated to the clubhouse for about an hour and a half. I didn't order any food, but spmacks and Zack's breakfast plates looked awesome. At 9:30, WR wanted to do a shot, and originally I agreed but then thought better of it. So I just stuck with beer and by the time we got back out on the course, I was pretty tipsy. On the last hole, I really shanked my tee shot and was surprised I did not hear glass break. Somebody found a Titlest in thier backyard.

On the last hole, I decided to go barefoot and hit my shot out of the water. I forget how many swings it took, but I finally did connect and hit it about 20 yards actually. I don't know if any pictures of this exist, and I wish I had taken more on the day, but I was too drinky. What few pics I do have are below.

Bussed it to Arlington, with beer on the bus (which was encouraged by Delevitt actually), and more beer. From what I remember of the show, it was pretty funny. Tiny really helped me out with betting the ponies too. I had only planned on making a few small bets since I didn't know what the fuck I was doing anyway, but he picked me 2 horses that came in 2nd, and since I bet them both to place, a $5 bet turned into winners of $12 and $23. So between that and the beer, I was as happy as a pig in slop.

Despite the poor weather in the morning, it was a hellava fucking day. Big shoutouts to everyone at AM1000, Seven Bridges, and the Racecourse. Its nice to see that guys of this ilk (be it musicians, athletes, sports talk, entertainers, etc..) actually give a shit and treat listeners to a day like this, and to simply just hang out and be cordial with us commoners. And again to Doug for putting the time and effort into winning something he couldn't partake in anyway. Its too bad the Manniversary only comes around once a year, but then again I feel like I need a weekend just to recover from my weekend.

Congrats on 7 years MJH and here's to many more. Thanks again to everyone.

A big thanks to Mackey for having me and 3 Putt Gene out. Had some laughs and enjoyed my time out on the course despite the rain and a bad bout with allergies. I wish I could of made it out to the track but I was feeling like crap. For me to miss a day of gambling , I have to be hurting.

Enjoyed the short time I got to spend with the other cats from the board. Too be young again .

It was also nice to meet Harry's sister who was working the room at 7 Bridges. :P

It's too bad they wouldn't let us back on the coursen a lot earlier. By the time we got back out, it was like 12:30. But we discontinued playing a scramble format and just played our own ball. Plus we played another 18 holes after we got back on the course, so we didn't finish till almost 4:30. Too late to try getting to the race track. We would have only caught 45 minutes at best, had we raced to the track. But it was a fun day and certainly hope to do the entire thing sometime in the future.

It was excellent guys....I really don't have time to get into too many specifics because I am busy at work and need to get back on it, but I had a WONDERFUL time...even though I was the only brother in the entire place. Sorry for being late, I was literally packing and moving the entire night and morning (sidenote: I'm never moving again!) and I didnt want to go to the event without at least taking a shower/shaving, so yeah I was late...One of the highlights for me was El Justin Craig giving me a hard time the entire day about being late.

Big Ups to Zederman too...

I love ya Doug!
