I'd like to thank Mac, Jurko and Harry for the great time I had at the tailgate today - only to be topped off by an absolute ass whoopin' administered by the White Sox on the floundering and hapless Flubbies today. ...and about three hours at the Admiral Theater on the way home. Funny how a baseball game starts at 3PM, and I come rolling in around 1AM.....

Mac was the Five Star Grill Sergeant, and Carm flew in on an early buggy from NYC to man the girly grill - I'm sure they'll have pics up on the website Monday, but here's a cell phone pic:

Image

My personal Top Five Moments of the Tailgate, in no certain order:

> Harry Teinowitz's expression when he saw Aggravated White Sox Fan Bob's '69 Mr. Met t-shirt, and complementary NY Mets ball cap
> Adam Delevitt actually doing some work for a change - besides fetching Justin Craig's coffee for him
> The plethora of scrumptious food choices prepared by Dan McNeil, his always hospitable wife Sherri, Carmen and some guy wearing an odd looking cowboy hat
> A woman named Fran arguing with any employee of ESPN1000 that would listen, that she's not happy she can't get into any contests, and that there's a sense of sexism on the afternoon show. The Gridiron Assassin, always the peace keeper intervened and told her she needed a moniker or she'd get nowhere fast - then dubbed her Aggravated White Sox Fan Fran. Danny Zederman then told her that she's not part of their primary demo and she should accept it. Harry (wisely walked away from her), and Adam Delevitt soon followed suit
> Vandy and Mac singing a spirited version of the first verse of Rocky Top

Thanks again guys - another top notch effort!!!

The guy in the cowboy hat was probably Carm's date.

Good summary Slick. God bless Chet Coppock too, hopefully he's feeling OK - I felt like borrowing him some skin pigment.

Regarding Silverman. He wasn't wearing anything on his head other than too much hair gel. He was also WAY too busy following his fiancee Bethany around like a lap dog. Rightfully so. It was a sign of things to come for Cub fans I guess, as they were the White Sox lap dogs all day long. Silverman outkicked his coverage with his woman. Hard to believe Danny Zederman played the role of Chuck Woolery in that love connection.

THE BRATS! OHH THE BRATS!

Honestly, Best I ever had! (Per Mac) Brats cooked then submerged in 3 typs of mustard, onion, garlic and kraut overnight. And I backed it up with 4 of them! (Still paying for it) or maybe that was the 4 tall Gentlemen Jack's on Ice. (A Zederman contribution)

For those not in attendance, full menu was

-Brats (See above)
-Burgers
-Steak
-Turkey (I think...didn't get to that end of the table)
-Grilled Shrimp (I am talking Gulf coast fat, top of the line shrimp and tons of them)
-Brownies with nuts and without nuts for those Homophobics.
-Lotsa Miller product

A well put together event, Huge Props to Mac & Co.

Oh, there was some type of corn bean salad, but I was not in the salad mood.

Actually upon further review (maybe I had one too many), I did get a picture of Aggravated White Sox Fan Bob's awesomely incredible T-Shirt that Harry wasn't too fond of:

Seeing I got sick yesterday while tailgating and blew out a Port-O-John in LOT E and listened to the game in my car while running back and forth to the Port -O john while the 12 people who were with me went in and enjoyed the game I wished I would of went on Friday insted. :pukel:

But then again, she has a little Catalina in her from My Name is Earl:

Stu, she was a bit crazy.

Just to diffuse the situation I asked her where she worked. About five minutes from my work. Yikes...

I liked the fact that all of the guys told her pretty much to pound sand. Even Danny Zederman stopped his game of Cornhole to tell her tough luck - if you're not entertaining to me off the air, you won't be when you're on the air.

I'll get to Mac's Hawks vs. Red Wings tailgate at Wrigley this year. A side note as I was in Lot E most of Saturday afternoon our friend Deep (aka Brain Sawa ) was in our group and told me about a fight in the stands and what a asshole this fan was . Brian just sent me this and this guy is pricless.

Have a look. Why people should not drink at sporting events.

Thumbs up to the video of the tailgate on the website too. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a tad bit jealous. I'm glad someone put together a video. It kinda felt like being there. :D

I find it pretty pathetic that fans feel the need to throw punches and fight drunks at sporting events and I blame the clubs who over serve and who continue to allow these folks to buy beer when they are clearly drunk.I have seen a half a dozen or so fights in the stands at the Cell this year and the Sox are to blame as things seem to be laxed when it comes to rowdy, over served fans.

I have been to Bears games and it's not pretty over there either.Wrigley has had it's issues but the Cell seems to have more of a problem than any other venue in the city.

I've never understood why people treat games as a $30 cover charge to an over priced bar. The game is enjoyable in and of itself.

I've been over served more than once at sporting events, but never have even been close to getting into fisticuffs with someone.

That video is great. "fran" reminds me of the idiot in Britain who sued for not getting a job at a hair salon because she wouldn't take her headdress off. What a Caller Bob. Harry just had this look that screamed "I can't believe I am actually having this conversation with her."

I think these clubs who allow people to tailgate 2 hours before the game know what their getting into when it comes to drunks in the stands.

If you guys would of watched us consume the booze we did during the Northwestern Tailgate days they would not of let us in. Slapnuts, Mac, Myself, 3 Putt would go thru gallons of Jack, Scotch, Vodka and not even make into the game some times.I believe Mac passed out under the bleachers one game but I don't think any of us caused any trouble.Although they made Slappy take off this giant parka and stripped him of the 22 beers we hid in his jacket and threw him out at the Michigan game years ago.

Exactly. Even if tailgating is stopped and the overserving is strictly cut down, there's always old flasky that you can hide in your pocket.
