Kind of odd that last year's bets ended in a dead heat tie now isn't it?

VISIONARY!!!!

I'll miss you guys at the tail gate in '09 - but one thing is for sure, there will be tons of sissy ass Cubs fans invading my beloved park's parking lot - and they'll be chirping before the game, and they'll leave all drunk and incoherant with no knowledge of what exactly happened to their North Side heroes as they stagger out the exits.

Kinda Bullshit is what it was. The Sox got to use 163 games to the Cubs 161. In order to keep the bets on an even playing field, both sides should have been judged by an even number of games, which would have been 161. Then Cubs side (Jurko & Harry) would have won the bet. Not that it would matter now. But that has bugged me since it ended. You can't have 1 side get 2 extra games to add to their totals.

The bets were based on the regular season Steve, if I'm not mistaken - not a finite amount of games.

That's like saying if two guys who bet on 'most rushing yards' shouldn't have one be allowed to win the bet when only one team had the ball in overtime. It is what it is.

Or to take your argument in the world of baseball - what if the Sox didn't get to bat in the bottom of the 9th inning more times than the Cubs because the Cubs closer sucked, and blew five save opportunities?

They were indeed based upon regular season statistics. The regular season should include 162 games. Unfortunately, the Cubs had 1 of the games VS Houston postponed due to the Hurricane that forced the series in Houston to be relocated to Milwaukee. The fact that that game was never made up, is one thing-that would have given the Sox side (Dan) 1 extra game. But to also include the 1 game playoff between the Sox and Twins where Thome got the Homer that was the deciding factor in securing a tie on the bets....that seems wrong to me. That should not have counted, as it was NOT a game scheduled for play in the 162 game regular season....

Not that it really matters at this point. I just like for there to be an even playing field.

Sorry buddy but the Cubs fans that come to Cell block #9 are the real ones...not the tourists and just moved here people that want to see what is the ballpark mecca and best sports venue in the country and have a good time. They also come to enjoy a day in the greatest city in the world. We real cubs fans cant help it if we play in a tourist trap but its worth it for the real cubs fans that get to watch good baseball and drink in that sun and see the ladies and all the other fun that goes on, on top of the game.

No ones coming to see the eye sore that is US Sell out field just so they can eat a churro and funnel cake (you got the food part going for you) and on top of that they might be worried that some moron fan had a domestic dispute with his wife over some meth that went missing from their trailer and now there going to try and take it out on a Cubs fan...with a knife or maybe they'll just take it out on the visiting teams first base coach.

The ones that come to your eye sore of a stadium are the real cubs fans and some of us may drink...what? sox fans dont? thats right yall have to drink O'Douls. So we come to your stadium with nothing to do before the game, except hang out in the parking lot? what is this East Texas high school football? because your stingy ass owner doesnt want any money being spent outside his stadium so it has nothing but crap around it so you have to go inside and not enjoy a bar and food or team gear shopping. Those guy are the real ones. The cubs fans that flood the stadium for three days in June or July and earn Reinsdorf more money than he makes from any other games in the year including playoffs and he wouldnt have it any other way so tell him your sick of it.

Q: When will sox fans give up their obsession with the cubs? A: when they are the toast of the town. aka never.

And dont give me any northside/southside crap either. none of your players live over there and your beloved doofus of a clown AJ Pierzynski lives in Lincoln Park with his family.

Y'all have a world series title from '05 and we got one from 100 years ago, they're both in the past and we passed you as a consistent team year in and out a few years ago. In fact cubs fans dont even care about the sox like we do the cardinals or even the brewers at this point. We got bigger fish to fry.

I would of unload this on Mac as I got sick of hearing his weird obsession always talking about the cubs...but I cant anymore.

that ought to stir things up on here...

Stick to posting pictures of sandwiches and reviewing restaurants, beef.

If it weren't for your avatar, this thread may be the most ridiculous thing I've seen today.

Is that the Dallas Cowboys' and Jerry Jones's collective egos swirling down the toilet drain?

I have no interest in trashing the Cubs and their fans...the signing of Bartolo Colon indicates the White Sox Farm System is a disaster and Lance Broadway is another First Round Stiff.
White Sox Fans have our own problems with our station to station offense.

As a season ticket holder, Winning the American League Central meant NOTHING to me with the streaky painful to watch home run or nothing style of offense the White Sox trotted out there.
Watching the White Sox play last year was akin to a root canal...and add Hawkeroo blaming umpires for a real icing on the cake.
