This new version of the Saloon is going to take some time to come together, if ever.
Then Jurco's deal will be up and by that time Mac will have another gig and a place for Jurco to land. Then Jurco leaves and you take 2 steps backwards after 1 step forward. It's foolish to try and build this show up again just to know it is going away.
IF, you went to Mac and offered him a lump sum payment and he can do whatever he needs to do (Thus no non compete) and then even ask him to go talk to WSCR and come back in a week if they want Jurco. See if he could start that talk and complete something.
Yes, Dan McNeil gets something out of it, Jurco gets to do what he wants to do and ESPN gets to do whatever it is that you corporate geniuses think is going to be the answer to this vacancy that is going to happen.
It's a much better scenario than letting this show slowly (Really slowly) build again and then take another hit. You will be the laughing stock of Chicago sports again if this happens.
