Heard them say it on the way home. Hopefully, Harry doesn't get even a new one year deal. The show would be so much better without him.

Not Carm's fault, but ...

If they get rid of Harry it has the potential to be a good show. Harry sucks and drags everything down.

Mac was making too much money and was too "Non ESPN" so this guy finally gets a shot at the big time and what does he do? He turns my favorite drivetime radio show into something I won't listen to anymore. Awesome.

Good to know. Three more years now in which I don't have to ever worry about finding that station at that time slot.

I listened to this show for almost a whole segment yesterday. But why give anyone more than a one year deal at this point?

ESPN probably feels that they are diversified and large enough to weather the coming storm without throwing any talent overboard.

And "the mothership" is already taking measures to "iterate their product mix" to account for NFL/NBA lockouts. Notice Bill Simmons is covering pro wrestling all of sudden and he's mentioned how ESPN wants to begin highlighting other minor sports more in his podcasts/columns.

Or maybe they are locking in Carmen at a cheap enough rate that it's worth it.

Carmen is just licking the Bristol taint. Why do you think the show has morphed into what it is now? Carmen is a perfect ESPN vanilla guy, and im sure the coporate guys are happy with him.

I think it was a week ago or so when the Cavs were in town to face Da Bulls. Harry had courtside seats and he was trying to convince Carm and even Jurko to go with him....that was some awkward radio.

NO ONE wanted to go with him. Listening to their reactions, the silence , the fumbling for fake reasons to duck out...

It was fucking great.

I was one of those that was quite upset with ESPN radio, for firing Danny Mac. I thought Carmen was incapable of filling that role as the driver of the show. But Carmen has grown into the role and while I still would prefer Mac in that spot without a doubt, I think carmen has improved significantly. Guys like Silvy and Carmen represent a younger generation that can take the station significantly into the future. Thay already are well established in the market, not making huge coin and young enough to relate well to younger listeners and have a substancial future ahead in the business. good for Carmen and the station.

Carmen does a great job.
He knows his stuff and also knows the market he works in like the back of his hand.

I listen to these guys rather than the alternative because they aren't usually amusing themselves at the expense of absolute idiot callers.
