Annually seems more sufficient.

Bold text is false. JORR's exact quote:
JORR wrote:
I don't need to rationalize it. I don't really think it's "wrong".

Yes Drunk driving is wrong

Im pretty sure JORR is not saying driving shitfaced is ok.

But, a lot of people dont think driving with a couple beers in you is wrong. Thats how I interpreted what he said.

312 player...I couldnt agree more. But Id take it a step further and say we need an age maximum for driving.

Illegal is a stretch for a permit violation.

  Then .08 is a stretch for drunk driving?

there are so many reasons why you are wrong.
why should I pay for a sticker on my license plate? so the state can just piss away.....

A couple beers will not get you to .08 unless you are 100 pounds or a girl. He gave no qualifier on how many beers was too much. His was more of a generic talk about drunk driving which normally indicates intoxication. No one says that having a beer and driving is drunk driving.
Frank Coztansa wrote:

I do not agree with someone who is exactly at .08 who is not driving erratically getting arrested for it. In my opinion, .10 is a better number.

Having a couple beers and driving isnt wrong
Having a couple bottles of jack and driving is.

both could get DUI's

Certain things are illegal, not for moral reasons, but practical ones.

Its illegal to put a pool in without a permit...is it morally wrong? No Should it be illegal? Yes

As usual, I agree with my multfather. And it's interesting he brought up wife beating. Undoubtedly, most domestic violence occurs under the influence. However co-habitating under the influence isn't a crime. Wife-beating is. Society views the fact that the beaters are often drunk or high as incidental, although that surely isn't the case anymore than drunkeness being incidental to a lot of dangerous driving. Maybe drinking should be illegal. But as I said, that didn't work out so well once before.

Wouldn't raising it lead to more incidents? There is impairment of balance, speech, vision, reaction time, and hearing at .08. You will believe that you are functioning better than you really are. I'd think at .1 more people would belive they are fine and be more impaired.

Just stop. You will get lit up if you continue. You have no idea why you need permits (among other things) for a fence, pool, cut down a tree, etc etc etc.

As I said earlier, look at that pic. His BAC was way higher than .131 when he first started driving home.

BAC rises for about an hour after you stop drinking. He was less drunk when he left the bar.

As someone whos been in the "biz" for going on 25 years and a owner for almost 10 now this
is a very sticky subject. All the places I worked at or owned have been in the
suburbs and getting a cab for people in a timely fashion is nearly impossible so for the most part
I just drive them home myself or have a employee do it. Do I like it when people drink? Of course but
I don't want the extra dollars in my pocket if it is going to cause innocent people harm. We cut a lady off
made her stay a extra hour gave her food and water and had someone come pick her up.... Someone took her
car to another bar she drank for another 1.5 hrs and ends up killing a mother and 3 babies. I live with this everyday
cause I didn't call the police when I noticed the car was gone a hour later. I hope that bitch rots in hell cause after
the investigations I find out that she had 5 f'n dui's in like 8 yrs. The only way that this can be stopped is offering
easier ways for people to get home. We have a company on call that will put your car on a flat bed and take you home for
$30 bucks! Been used 5 times in a year what a waste.

That assumes that he was drinking up until the moment he left. I would guess that most people who know they've had a lot stop before they leave and eventually convince themselves "I'm good now".

As good of service as we receive at your place, sir, I wouldn't be surprised if you carried people home on your back.

Then you've never been around Harry. He shoots the whole time and then does one for the road.

mcbrides, how do you "advertise" that service? If I can drive there the get stinky drunk and get me and my car home for 30 bucks I'll do it.
