I don’t mind Jay, I have read worse. As far as this article goes, I went away thinking this; ESPN is a professional place of work, where they have a chain of power and rules to be followed. WSCR is run by the people who are on the air, the people who are suppose to be in charge are scared on the on air talent and until it changes, people like North will get away with anything he wants.

Jay didn’t write anything in this article that wasn’t true in my opinion. Maybe Jay doesn’t have another radio show because his plate his full. Mac should just take the approach North has taken over the years and be happy his name showed up in the paper.

In was an interesting read. Most of our columnist write shit that nobody cares about just to collect their checks. He was right to rip Pappy and Chet. I'm not an apologist for Mac. I've taken him to task several times here. Mac's indiscretions don't compare to Pappy or Chet. Jay didn't even mention Pappy's most despicable on air moments.

It does show the difference of the 2 stations. Pappy never gets suspended. Not for his Chinaman stuff or any of his other stupid comments. The Score just has weak management. Mitch just wants to stay there as long as possible. He figures if he suspends people it would reflect badly on him. If his New York bosses don't hear of any suspensions they'll think everything is going great at the Score.

Your thinking about the word "bitch" is extremely flawed.
Using your theory, people using the N word isn't a bad thing because it shows how much progress blacks have made in society.
Also, that would make North's Chinamen comment and his reference to Antonio Mora wearing a sombrero as evidence that those cultures are having a deeper impact on society.

Bitch is a word used to degrade women -- not compliment them.

You know, there are bad women in the world. I'm not saying the women that Mac called a bitch deserved it. I forget the circumstances anyway. Mac felt she was a bitch. Whatever.

To the greater point - What do we call a piece of shit women? We gotta call them something. "Bitch" is good for me. Of course it's degrading. Guess what? Some women deserve to be degraded. That's the purpose of the word. Maybe you can be a nice women and occasionally act like a bitch. You can separate a "bitch" like action from an otherwise nice lady. But she still can be called a bitch for those moments.

I always thought that men got called "ass holes" and women got called "bitches". It's been that way for some time.

Beardown, you just proved my point. You mentioned that you have never called a woman a bitch to her face. Sounds like you understand the power of the word -- and its connotation. Even though some women may have deserved it in your eyes -- which is still no defense for saying it -- you knew that there might be complications after the utterance.
The word is used in many other different forms: to complain about something -- but that isn't the way Dan used it.
Dan's comments were malicious. He was angry at the woman and this was his way to take a very-public shot at her.
He deserved the suspension. With his past history of anger issues, he's very fortunate to still have his job. He made a mistake, and he has apologized for it. That's fine with me.
I just thought it was interesting how you soft-shoed what Danny has done in the past. "He just said something about someone, and he just shoved Harry." It was a little more in both cases. What's worse is the believed intent of Dan's actions.
Once again, I agree that North deserves a lot more punishment than he's received for his actions.

I've called a drunk woman a 'Caller Bob' right to her face, and I'd do it again given the circumstances. You don't ever skip somebody in the chalkboard line to play pool in a pub. The old 'erase two names' trick never played well with a BEEF ROCKMORE.

The look on her face was priceless. She knew she was busted, but she didn't know that get that calm, emotionless comment from me. She just slumped her shoulders and returned back to her bar stool.
