"Another figure that has been perceived inaccurately is the Score's 2007 billing figure. Congrats to their sales department for getting the job done, but the White Sox contract (reportedly about $3 million per) cuts into that figure considerably. Their net revenues, while solid I'm sure, are gashed significantly by rights fees and a $1.5 million dollar morning host. "

Mac I have been saying this since Day 1- $22 million is a nice number, but I would like to see how much is leftover after all the host, producers, sales staff, paper clips are paid for. I would venture to say the profit would not be that great.

I'm kind of tiring of this argument, but the Score's revenue was almost $9,000,000 more than WMVP. That's 67% better than their competition. Do you really think that the salaries of the hosts and support staff accounts for the difference? (I'm sure that Matt, Jason, Rock & producer Sy are laughing at this idea). North may be the pinnacle in terms of a paycheck, but Mac & Waddle are big shooters too.

He was largely upset because RodeoVann and Mopery were contacting the Little Guys directly.

Was Dana Jacobson at the meeting? I hear she's got this whole suspension thing worked out.

People keep saying Satellite Radio. I just dont see it. Unless he were to hook in with the NFL channel on Sirius or an MLB only station on XM, Mac does not have a home on Satellite in my opinion. He works in Chicago because he is knowledgeable and passionate about the two most popular sports in Chicago. To be a national host, which is what would be wanted on Satellite, Mac needs to get much more into the NBA, college bball and college football.

Comparing Mac to Howard is insane anyway you slice it as well. By conservative estimates, Howard had anywhere between 15-20 million listeners when he signed on with Sirius. What does Mac bring? 100K at the most from Chicago?

I wish Mac all the luck in the world if he wants to get into Satellite radio, but I just dont see a market to make it happen.

Greg, there are many channels on XM that don't have 100,000 listeners. And while Mac does a local show now, he has the chops to do a national show of whatever kind he wanted...even if it were only a football and baseball show year around. Think out of the box a little here. Whatever show he would do on XM would probably not be the same show he does now for a local audience. And I don't agree that he would have to be proficient at all sports to pull it off. I see the future of satellite radio to be providing much more "narrow casting" to target markets than conventional "broad casting" serving mass appeal. For example, there is a PGA channel on XM, a blues channel, elevator music, etc. These channels and programs succeed, for their narrow audiences. You don't need to be a Howard to succeed in satellite. In fact, Howard's huge audience is the exception for satellite radio and any comparison to him is an unfair one. Mac is a sports radio pro. I believe he could create a show that works for his target market if that were his desire.

Mac do you worry more about posting sports topics or more about posting topics about you? I can picture this now; you sit in front of your computer and type some dribble about a meeting that you are not at liberty to discuss..about you. Who asked you to post this? No one. Than you sit back and watch those responses come in...about you. Bored are you? And you don't respond to people who show concern, because why should you. Your acheiving your end result; to read about you. You have a little secret that we all want to know right? Save it fella.

I have always thought that "xstyle" was a certain person who is employed by WMVP. In fact, shortly after xstyle started posting here, there were some tell tale giveaways and a few people caught them and speculated as to his identity. A little inside the station aggression coming out here? I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin....
