I disagree with Pastor getting rid of Mac. But Pastor also made a terrible decision in his timing of when to get rid of him. He got rid of Mac right at the beginning of the slowest time of the year for Chicago sports, the month of February. March does not get too much better until the NCAA tournament.

This makes it really tough for the Afternoon Saloon, especially Carmen. That is why they have to come up with silly time fillers like the movie competition.

But the show will still probably fail.

Probably most oh Harry's idea's, and on the Man-Cation, somebody e-mails in about taking care of kids and then Harry says I am looking for something else, I think it was guys who needed a date or something like that.

Not so sure that will be true. With lower ratings, it's likely AM 1000 is going to have a hard time selling ad time. They may well have to decrease the price for ad times, just to sell it. That means less money coming in, which may offset the difference in salary, between Mac and Carmen. I believe that Pastor will look back on this decision and know with great certainty, that he made a bad decision, letting Mac go.


The money coming in was already falling and Mac was too expensive.


They'll be fine - unlike the Score, they've got plenty of corporate companies that want to hitch their brand to ESPN's brand.

If I'm not mistaken I heard Fast Freddie Huebner pimpin' some Valentine's Day special on an ESPN commercial today. YOU GO FRED!!!

Well, I gave the Saloon a couple of weeks and it's just not the same show I enjoyed on a daily basis nor did I expect it to be. I like all 3 guys on a personal level and the guys behind the glass are great guys but I'm not going to sit here and suger coat things and say it's appointment radio for me because it's not.

I respect the hell out of Carm but he's set up to fail with trying to fill Mac's seat and Harry and Jurko can't go 5 minutes without a fight and frankly without Mac there they are both out of control. I wish all 3 of them the best ..I try B&B FOR A BIT , but they give me a headache after awhile but I will say they do make me laugh ...To much Bulls talk with them to keep me intrested.

Hopefully my buddy gets behind a mic very soon and I can enjoy his musings once again.
