According to Feder today is that the Score "WILL NOT" renew North at the Score when his contract is up . They will replace him and are currently looking for a morning guy which means Mac will have to help another washed-up Chicago radio personality find a home at ESPN 1000.

Mac and Pappy may have patched up their differences, but I doubt that Mac would stick his neck out for Pappy. Pappy's ego would not allow him to be second fiddle at the station. We saw Mac's understandable dislike for what happened at the Snore in the late 90's. They put all of their eggs in Pappy's basket, and it alienated all of the other hosts, except Fred "the lap dog" Huebner. WOOF WOOF WOOF !!

Pappy patched things up with Mac because he knew damned well he might need him as an ally down the road.

Ok, while not a lawyer, I think you have to tread lightly when misquoting or misrepresenting someone like North to an advertiser because of the possibly libelous situation.

If comments made about him are found to be untrue and found to cost him money or the station money due to this misrepresentation, you then have the basis for a libel suit. The difference as you all probably know, libel is the written word, slander is the spoken word.

The very definition of libel says that caution is needed:

"anything that is defamatory or that maliciously or damagingly misrepresents."

Damagingly is the key word here - if his reputation is considered to be damaged monetarily with the advertiser, he could have the basis of a libel suit.

Just my humble opinion.
