But if he were less fired up he would be comatose, which would be better because then he would be unable to speak.

Don't forget to separate the whites from the darks before loading the machine.

He did that every day which explained the love for hockey and hate for the NBA

Well, Jurko and Harry did say they had no idea it would be Mac's last show. So you know Mac didn't know either. We did get that info out of this awkward show start.

That and Harry would't of thrown a cup of water on Mac if he were on fire. Real thanks to a guy who carried his fat ass for 7 years.

You'll get more Thursday in the S-T, Beardown.

Cold water is a safe play when mixing whites from darks.

There are black players in the NHL, spmack. Our very own Dustin Byfuglien is among them.

Did Jurk really say he wagered on the Eagles? I think he just meant he picked them.

I may go see DEP's band on Sunday, Jan. 25, with Eaglo Jeff.

Was that actually aparacio with a compliment?

It was weird listening to the first 20 minutes. You guys made it fun.

DeFalco bases his points entirely too much on logic and reason.

Also, dude gets way too fired up over EVERYTHING: "The Bears have no running game!!!" "The Bears offensive line is teh suck!!!" it's like Keith Olberman ranting about Dick Cheney and George Bush. I thought Harry said the show would be happier, "less angsty".

Mac, DB is about as black as Bryant Gumbel :P

But you know I'm gonna still ball bust ya, even during your 4 month holiday...

Is today the start of a new clock or is it just altered for the day?

Prolly the latter, I just assume people who say they picked the wrong team in an NFL game had some skin in the game.

Is it possible to reek of corporate sterility? If so, this show does.

I don't think this is a "first impression". We've heard Carm with Jurko and Harry on several occasions.

Harry has really relaxed. It's not like Mac's there to glare at him when he gets corny.

This show is lacking something.... SPIKE!

I have a feeling I'm going to have a shitton of free time. I should do something about that. Maybe I'll start going to the gym again. I have to say, thanks to MJH, I wouldn't go to the gym between 2-6, 3-7, whatever...b/c I didn't want miss any of their show.
MJH is the reason why I'm carrying this extra 2lbs around on this otherwise svelt 5'7" 145lb frame (and drink way too much beer).

don't need a hobby. don't need any more vices. really don't want a wife. can't really drink good whiskey.

hey Beardown, what the hell do you do with your time besides bang hookers?

I heard them do the birthday list and immediately thought, "Oy vey. I hope for Carm's sake they don't just plug him in where Mac used to be and do the same show with the same 'bits' (for lack of better word)." That's not fair to anyone: Carm, the audience, and Jurk and Harry (in that order).

Of course, the powers that be thought taking Mac out of the equation was a good idea, so I wouldn't put anything past them.

I'll know the apocalypse will be upon us when I hear Carm introduce "Critics" on Tuesday. If they do, they better get big voiced guy to say "ESPN 1000: Cookie cutter radio for the masses! No one will know the difference!"

This is not good. Hopefully, it will get better. Not sure how much time I'll give it, though. Harry can get out of hand pretty quickly, and I'm not sure if Carm can keep Jurko awake for the full four hours, five days a week.

I've only been able to really halfway pay attention, but overall- meh. My MP3 player will be getting much more of a workout in the car from now on. I'll still chime in from time to time...but not a P1 anymore.

What's to say that if Mac goes to the Score that he won't be on as tight a leash as he was at ESPN? I've written 1 letter in my life to bitch about something (many emails but technically only one old-fashioned letter), and that letter was written to Mitch Rosen when he was running AM 1000. He suspended Mac and never acknowledged or had Jurk or Harry acknowledge on the air the fact that Mac was suspended. It really pissed me off, and I'm not so sure given CBS's ownership that it wouldn't be a similar situation as the one at the Mickey Mouse station. New boss same as the old boss, who actually WAS an old boss.

Also, where am I going to get my fix of Mac saying the word "comport?" :P

Mac, please use "comport" in a sentence for me. Thanks in advance.

Sheeesh.

DID I hear Harry correctly say that he called Mac and Mac has not returned his calls? They just texted. I would ask Mac why he has not returned his phone call.

Caught some of it today and it seemed forced and let's all put smiles on our face and will be better than ever type of show. I wish all 3 of them the best of luck but Im a fan of Carm the person and the host but he's just in a tough spot with the shoes he's trying to fill and I hope the best for him. There is a place for him at ESPN but not in the role he's in now.

I'll put them on to fill my sports thirst but not the extent I once did .I tried B&B for a bit today but that wore on me after awhile.

Maybe when it gets warmer Mac can just grab a Mr.Microphone and do some shows from his Gazeebo in Dyer 5 days a week.

Hey Mac,

Listened to show #1 today, "PM" (post-Mackie). The events of the past few days reminded me of the time when SNL decided to dump Norm McDonald off of the show and replace his "Weekend Update" chair with Colin Quinn. Quinn began his first "Update" with this introduction:

"You know how you go to your favorite bar, and your local bartender isn't there? You ask, "Where's Jeff?" "Jeff no longer works here, I'm Steve." And you're thinking, "Hey, who's this idiot? I like Jeff." But you still want your drink? And even though Steve doesn't mix your drink the same way you're used to, like Jeff, you still like the same bar, you don't want to have to go to a different bar. And even Steve might feel kinda bad because Jeff trained him. Jeff showed him how to work the cash register, where the tonic was on the soda gun, who tips, who doesn't....Well...I'm Steve. What can I get you?"

Today Carm was Steve.

Looking forward to your new gig, Mac.

For what I heard today, it sounded forced - my guess it ill for a few days/weeks as they get a rhythm going. My suggestion to the producer/Carm is to start coming up with new bits that make sense for the people in the studio. If Carm is driving the bus, start to come up with ideas that fit him,. and have ways for H & J to be part.

I'd also spend more time on sports that Mac really wasn't interested - like college basketball. While the immediate local landscape is bad, the teams from the MVC - like ISU this year - are usually good and have a lot of alumni in the listening area. At least it will be something that is more Carm than Mac -
