Yes it will be on June 22nd, 2007 due south of US Cellular Field where John Jurkovic and Harold Tinowitz will grill me a bubba-burger and then I will sashay into said ballpark to watch the 2005 World Series Champion Chicago White Sox lay the lumber on the unlovable losers known as the Chicago Cubs, much to the dismay of their overly loyal fan base, or shall I say cub-dumb.

Do Sox fans sashay? Did the Cork and Kerry go burrito? There's a new "Big Hurt" on the Southside for ya Slick?

It's 2007, you had your year to gloat but I think you have to drop your above statment now. Your bullpen only has Jenks left from that year. Two of your starting pitchers are gone. Plus, how many position players?

Also, if you can use that 2 years after, when are you permitted to stop. Can I say I am going to see the '98 World Champion Bulls next week?

I don't think anyone anyone in 1971 was saying that the '69 Cubs are going to play the '71 Pirates were they.

Oddly enough, you take away Garcia and McCarthy and the White Sox pitching staff is still deeper than that of the Chicago Cubs.

And for somebody talking about not living in the past, why do you call yourself OldSchoolScoreFan? The Sox have won the World Series much more recently than when the Score was listenable from sun up to sun down.

Stop by the MJH Cookout Area near Gate 2. I'll keep a bowl of sour grapes set aside for you.

Not that the Cubs are filled with Cy Youngs, but come on, Buerhle is coming off a awful year, Garland is solid, but can be bad, you dont know, Contreas isnt going to win 14 games this year and the rest of the staff is just a question mark.

3rd place.

It's always fun to watch a Cub fan analyze baseball.

The lineup with all of the pitching staff having average years is sufficient to make them a contender in the best division in baseball.

Pitching staff my friend - what don't you understand about that? Zambrano doesn't make "a pitching staff", nor does Buehrle drag the White Sox "five starters" below that of the Cubs. Do you even know WHO the Cubs 3rd starter is? And by pitching staff, I include middle relievers and closers. The only thing Ryan Dempster is gonna lead a team in is 'blown saves'. While Kenny Williams traded two starters, the White Sox middle relievers are going to be light out.

sure its 2007, and 10/26/05, and the parade attended by 4.5 million of 10/28 are memories..

i wont gloat and say "haha remember 2005" all the time, but as far as im concerned, i dont care what the cubs do from now until the time i die. they can win 5 world series in a row...goodie for them. the fact is that chicago hadnt seen a world series championship for almost 9 decades, and my team finally reached the promised land. and maybe this doesnt fit for everybody, but because of that special season alone, i can walk around with a white sox hat on very proudly until the day i die.

As a Yankees fan, I feel like Olivier watching Jim Belushi and Tom Arnold arguing over who is the better actor.

Very amusing.

Well said Frank. Sox fans who brag about Cubs futility make us all look bad. They're no better than Packer fans whose only goal is for their team to beat the Bears in a regular season game. I'm more concerned about the Sox doing well than anything that the Cubs do. We already have the bragging rights so hating on the Cubs is unecessary.

As the Yankees haven't won anything since 2000, I think you should feel more like Robert DeNiro--content to make bad movies while living off the critical glory of Raging Bull and Taxi Driver.

Seeing as the date I discuss is the Cubs / Sox game with the Mac, Jurko and Harry BBQ prior to it, I am justified in my boasting of the White Sox over the Cubs. Please refrain from telling a fan how to act or how he should feel, unless of course he's from Alsip. Of all the National League teams I hate the Cubs the most. However, as a Sox fan I don't hate them more than Minnesota or Detroit or Cleveland. In other words: I get it.
