Hey Guys, Portage Dave here. Yep from out toward Mackeyland. While a newbie to the boards, I have been a listener and occasional caller to MJH for a while now. Won Blackhawk tix (waiting for the "We're happy for ya") from S&C a few weeks back. Anyway, in case Mac is reading this thread, wanted to give you my first brush with the "Dangerous One" - kind of funny, but I am sure he doesn't remember. Me and a buddy were working out at Omni41 a number of years back. I had been a casual listener to Mac's early work with Chet and Dahl, etc, but I wouldn't have recognized him on the street, but my buddy was a huge fan. Guy by the name of Tim Flenor who I think went to school with Dan. He said that was Dangerous Dan McNeil and Dan asked for a spot. Actually had a nice little conversation about the Region and such - I was more an observer than an actual participant, but it was nice to hear a little region talk. The thing about Mac and the guys that I like and think will propel them continuously in the ratings is that it is real for them - it's never contrived or forced. While the feelings sometimes boil over the top, it's much like heated arguments we have all had with siblings or friends. When you put three guys with that kind of passion in the same room(s) for hours at a time, there are bound to be flair-ups. Anyway guys, just wanted to say hello and hopefully I will be able to contribute just a smidge to the witty banter that occurs here on a daily basis. |

Somebody should 'Ask Mac' about his first 'encounter' with Bill Simonson. I'll give you a clue. It happened in the Mens Room at The Hoist House. |

Who would have guessed? I mean with that totally misleading screen name you chose and all. |

Fargin - nicely played. I deserved that one. 20 points for Gryfindor. Oh wait, I'm not reading Harry Potter today - never mind. |

Welcome Dave I remember my first encounter with Gridiron Assassin...ahh yes that was the day he went 0 for 5 on Jurko vs Harry...Sorry Grid, you're probably the most popular fan in Chicago Sports Radio and our answer to the stump the schwab guy from ESPN, but you'll never live down that performance that day. That's your Buckner, your 1.8, your Bartman.... |

Just remember Portage, from the "Big Fan" Welcome page: 5. Don't take anything personal, just bring it next time. 6. You don't have to preface your posts with "I'm new here." we know that. we can see our post count and probably will not recognize your sign in name. Glad to have ya. |

I can't remember ever seeing Harry Potter mentioned on this board before. Let's let it be the last time. |

Good lord... the Jerry Dybzinski performance of my attendance of remotes follows me around like Woodridge Ryan up Silvy's ass. |
