Somebody (I believe C2C) made mention of JLC's "Mike & Miking" the MJH show. Is anybody else feeling this? Just curious, because I used to listen to MJH regularly. Now, I rarely tune in at all, maybe a couple of minutes at the bottom of the hour when B&B are on commercial. I previously attributed my changed listening habits to the resurgence of B&B, who I believe have been significantly better since the Rex Grossman-gate affair ended. After reading Coast's comments, I began to reconsider my stance. Sure, maybe B&B have been better lately, but maybe it's an MJH thing as well. Any thoughts from the peanut gallery?

I can't take credit for this Bucket. I believe Dr. Noisewater was the first to notice the significant new emphasis on teases at the end of each segment. Mac admitted as much by acknowledging he is coachable. Mac does the teases very smoothly and professionally, but these Greenberg style teases at the end of every segment are just such a change from what has made MJH successful for the last 5+ years. I'm sure we can think of some drinking game to go with these every segment Bristol beauties. And I have noticed an increase in interviews too. I don't necessarily have a problem with that one though, particularly during hoops season. But if we start getting daily baseball doses, it might get to be a bit much.

I'm sure I'm overthinking at this point too but it seems like there are more "prerecorded bits" like the Tank Johnson thing and song parodies that reeks of being "Joaquin"-like or whatever the M&M guy's name is.

I know they did this stuff before but it feels like they are doing more of it. But, like I said, it's probably my imagination.

I'm still a big fan of the show - just wary of a perceived trend.

I've loved Mac's song parodies since the early days of the HFC. I'm glad he's been doing more lately and hope this trend will continue. If that's a carrot-dangler influence, it's a positive one.

Hey Nas,

I think you should change your Mark Prior quote to "Can Mark Prior lead the Single A Cubs to a victory"?

I think you can put Kerry Wood and Mark Prior into the Chicago sports hall of fame of cliches.. Along with there is always next year, Steve Bartmen screwed us , this goat really screwed us , We trusty in Dusty, move Zorich to linebacker, why don't the Hawks show home games, and of course With a healthy Prior and Wood were good for at least a 90 win season . :P :P

I completely agree with the "Mike&MIke-ization" of the show... and unfortunately, I'm finding myself listening less.

Please stop the teases.

Really? I don't think the teases are "punch the button" material - just kind of annoying.

I kind of put them in the category of a "cheap trick" to keep people around when I think the content they provide is enough to keep people around.

However, the content is reduced when time is taken before a break to setup the tease and then do it. I just don't think it is needed.

Reminds me too much of Greenberg too and his teases are usually  material.

Doesn't change my listening habits - but I never was one for station flipping.
The only prompt I have to turn the dial is when PJ's "Alive" comes on around 9:00.

I'm with the Doctor - I think it is stupid to do the tease, like I'm going to suddenly decide to take the long way home, but I don't know why you would change the dial. It is definitely part of a favorite corporate word though - "branding."
