Post subject:  Mac down on himself today

Mac seemed depressed late in the show today. He was down on himself for seeing a picture of himself that made him look bad. He seemed upset about being on the back 9 of life. (the way you've lived maybe you're on 12 Mac)

Relax Mac. This coming from a guy who was/is scared of death. I'm a Catholic that beleives in heaven too. (right now it's a coin toss for God if I can go. I'm working on that) I used to have conversations with my mom as a kid about my fear of death. It really messed with me.

I look at it this way now. Or I try to convince myself of this. That moment that your Dad conceived you was the only chance of you existing. I mean, if Dad banged Mom the next day maybe it's a different spurm flow--a different person. Who knows? So never get down on your aging because it's better then the alternative-- death or never existing.

Plus Mac don't get down on not looking good. Hell, you got a good career and a nice looking wife. I just want one of those two. LOL. That's all you can ask for.

I know that the Burrito horn is going to go off now but here goes nothing.

Mac,
Don't get down too much. MJH helps make the day go by faster and makes it seem to be better. You actually have made a difference in my mood on some days and it sure as hell made my commute home a lot better. Harry and Jurko too if you guys are reading this.

Everyone sees a picture they don't like at some point but don't get too down on it. If anything, use it as motivation.

Look at it this way Mac. There are plenty of worse pictures of you that you've never seen.

Or even better. You get to look at Harry every day. At least you're not that. That's what I tell myself everyday to feel better and I don't get the visual reminder of Harry that you get every day.

I've seen a few pictures of Mac and he is not at all photogenic. What does he expect?
No offense Mac, but you have a face for radio, just like I have the face for a computer. So, isn't a bad picture pretty much the norm?

Yeah. But if you marry a girl 10 years your junior it adds 10 years. So at least Mac has that going for him. Now those 10 years go against his smoking, drinking, and eating. So, with that Mac, I have you reaching 68. Your last words will be on the air for all of Chicago to hear. They will be...

"Harry, that is stupid, you don't actually beleive that." Grabber. Done.

Mac's cohost response will be..

Jurko - You OK kid?

Harry - (Harry Honk). (Plugs a bar he's been at) *Comercial* Hey Justin Craig I get Mac's money now right?

Poppycock... he's got no reason to be depressed about being on the back nine of life.

He's got a lovely wife, three sons, he's a White Sox fan (not a Cubs fan) and a cell phone with no pictures of his appendage on it. ....allegedly.

I don't think Mac sounded depressed, just critical of himself. I think this is often the case of a perfectionist. I dont know if Mac is a perfectionist or not, but I find I am always looking at myself in an unsatisfied manner. Subconsciencely, I think Im just trying to motivate myself.

Jesus Christ guys..Was a Priest reading Mac his last rights or what ...Did Sherry have the plug to Mac's ventalater ready to pull it. Is he going to Iraq to do the 3 to 7 shift over there?

Relax, I'm 43 and I live my life day by day and I've had my fun and live for my kids and look to be retired by the time I'm 55. Things are so fast today and crazy and with what the world is today it could all end tomorrow. We are all blessed to live in this country and enjoy the fruits of our labor.

It sounded like Mac was upset by his appearence and the weight in his face..Fresh fruit and cardio will fix that my friend. I've gotten back into the gym and I've dropped 9lbs and a waist size and I've met a really good looking women at the gym , whom I have a date with this weekend ..

life is good !!

His impact goes beyond your facts, as true as they may be. He is one of the four people in this city to create modern Chicago sports talk radio. He built a following, literally out of nothing...and then he did it again at MVP. Without blowing too much smoke up his ass, Dan has to be considered the most significant sports radio voice in this city over the last 20 years.

Christ you're old. Instead of making plans for early retirement, you might want to think about finding a cemetery plot....

....thereby truly earning the title tallest midget.

By the way, I agree with your point about Mac's significance, but it's an unfortunate fact that Bernstein has been more influential in his briefer tenure.

It's true but I just have a lot of respect for what North, Jiggets, Boers and Mc Neil accomplished.

Good Dolphin, after that handjob, you may need a few tissues to wipe your hand off. And Girdiron, please disinfect.

If M, J, or H are in swimwear - then, please, no website photos.

I just got a new monitor.

In view of your thoughts on photos later in the show Mac, I'd just like to say I apologize. I'm sure you cut a striking figure in a bathing suit and would be a credit to the internet.

Now excuse me I have a full day ahead - I need to go work on my car, chop down a few trees, play some rugby, hunt and kill some animals, and some other manly things.

I wasn't depressed at all. I've been up all week. Shows have been solid... my most important relationships are on firm ground... and I'm eager to fish, work out, grill Allen Brothers products and see more of my wife and sons next week. All is good, thanks. I just sometimes hate looking at my fleshy face with the Mark McGwire pockiness. Harry is the one who became depressed. Reality is hard for some to accept. By the by... my blood pressure is surprisingly good... and the photo or me on Jurk's shoulders was taken in 'Zona. Love you guys (and ladies).

I recommend a motion that is both vertical and horizontal rather than the more common vertical tug. It gets them off quicker and let's me move on to the next customer.

That came across pretty clearly.
Ironic that the britesmile comments got to him, but the fact that his wife, Wendy, already has the tie/shirt she wants to burry him in picked out, made him laugh.
