Post subject: | Question about Jurko |
If he wasnt a Ex- NFL player, would he have a job in radio? |

Are you implying that former athletes get preferential treatment in sports radio/tv? I'm shocked by this. I mean I thought Darrin Jackson, Joe Carter, Isiah Thomas, and Eric Dickerson all got jobs in the field based on their fine announcing ability. |

Yeah. But Jurko wouldn't be Mac's friend if he never played in the NFL. Their paths would have never crossed. |

frank, something like this maybe? "father, husband, engineer, musician, creator of the jurktionary" coach, nah...not directly. but they've fed my ego enough the past few years for a fair trade. |

I'm shocked by this. I mean I thought Darrin Jackson, Joe Carter, Isiah Thomas, and Eric Dickerson all got jobs in the field based on their fine announcing ability. I am just asking a question. Jurko seems like a good guy, I was just curious what others thought. |

the man can barely blurt out three sentences before the weeeezing, gasping for air, gotta-rush-to-spit-out-my-thought-before-a-total-loss-of-h2o-emcompasses-me settles in.... (oddly, this affliction also permeates mcneil, as well).... in other words: NO! |

He might be, but it wouldn't be in this market. Most likely he'd be coaching a high school D-Line and teaching Freshman English in the south suburbs or NWI. |
