What a stupid meat ball thought. It's one game. If he threw a one hitter and ends up with 18 wins it's the same as him throwing a no hitter here and ending up with 18 wins. Or, it's the same as him doing either and ending up with 14 wins. How can Harry be that stupid? By that rationale, Harry would have gotton the Tonight Show for that one good joke he told in his life. |

Bear, you are using LOGIC to determine Buehrles market value. When has that ever applied in baseball? Harry's perverted sense of reality could be better at sensing these kinds of things than us. |

No. If he ends up 10-15with a 6.54 ERA no GM will say. "Yeah, but he threw that no hitter, so lets give him a huge deal." If he has a decent year he'll get 15 million per year for 4 or 5 years. Harry said he doubled his potential earnings by throwing a no hitter. So that means he gets 30 million. That's 5 million more per year then A-Rod. |

As a Cards fan (dodges projectiles thrown my way), I can point to what Suppan and Weaver managed to get after having a few really good starts. Granted, that was in the post-season, but it proves that when there are thirty GMs, one of them will be willing to shell out an amount of cash that can't be justified by any logic. Heck, even Marquis got some pretty big money for his "winning pedigree" as Stoney keeps calling it...even if he was left out of the playoff rotation the last two years. |

But he certainly didn't double his value. He's getting 15 or 16 million per year with a 17 win season. Bottom line. |

IF the season ended today, and Buerhle's stats got extrapolated out over a full season, then Buerhle's value would be double whatever his stats from last year would have earned him. Did his value double? No. Is Harry a kneejerk homo... oops I meant homer? Yes. Am I breaking into Jerry Angelo? Perhaps. |

Actually, Harry is a simplistic, unfunny, idiotic suck up. That's all he is and all he ever will be. A rich idiot, but an idiot none the less. I get more convinced everyday that his father pays the station to have him on the air. |

"IF the season ended today, and Buerhle's stats got extrapolated out over a full season, then Buerhle's value would be double whatever his stats from last year would have earned him." He would also have 10 no-hitters for the season. That would make him a lot of money. |

I get more convinced everyday that his father pays the station to have him on the air. You must be reading my mind. That describes Harry as well as any post I have read. I probably would have said he is an unfunny stroke. His father does not pay the station. The money his father left him did allow him to make almost no money before he met Mac. People often say that parents should encourage their kids in their endevours. I think Harry is proof that that is not always good advice. |
