Yes, Jurko is right. Harry is wrong. He is awarded the base if he's stealing 2nd and ball 4 to the batter. Obviously. But he touched the base. That's his reward. Anything after that is free game. He came off. He's out Bottom line Harry. There was no time called in the game. |

Harry you are wrong. You are stupid. That's the rule. The umps didn't blow it. It's a free flowing game. Just deal with it Harry. Harry, get mad at your guy for over sliding the bag. |

This day in MJH history won't be complete without a phone call from CARDINAL TONY chiding Harry. Don't let me down Tony... and don't break a hip blessing Easter baskets. |

That caller is right. It's a LIVE ball. You don't stop play for a walk. It there is a man on second with first base open and the batter walks, that guy can still be picked off of second. Same thing. Talk about sour grapes. |

This is one of those arguments that I can't possibly fathom how someone could possibly be on the other side (other side = Harry). |

You don't call time out Harry. Harry what if there was a guy on 3rd like the caller said. If ball 4 is a pass ball then that runner gets to go home. Umps don't call time out on ball 4!!!!! |

Now I didn't see the play, but the bigger question is why did Cedeno slide past (off) the bag? He should know better. What if it was strike three? Would he have slid past the bag then? What an idiot. |

Simple answer: Too much intensity... |

Mac, I know you're reading this. Tell Harry it is a live ball, and the umps CANNOT call timeout. It is a live ball - if a walked batter wants to try to steal second right away, he can. If a batter walks, and the catcher throws the ball over the pitchers head, the batter can still advance. Unless it in anyway harms the Cubs, and then the rule does not apply per The Second Council of FATHAH! |

He didn't look back to see it was ball 4. He didn't know he had a free base. |

Harry just admitted he was wrong. Call the dogs off. |

Harry's homerism kills me. Harry is ESPN1000's answer to WGN720's Ron Santo. But with hair and two feet. |

I'm hearing Lou's press conference. Lou said it was the right call. Bruce asked Lou "doesn't he have to show intent to go to 3rd?" Lou laughed and said no. Bruce should know better. That only aplies at 1st base. Bruce is dumb too. |

Someone needs to explain to Bruce on Chicago Baseball Tonight that stepping (or in this case, sliding) off the base IS intent. |

I haven't heard this much talk about someone's intent since Florida 2000. |

so...what happened now? |

It's not that it was the runners intent. But intent doesn't matter. You have to stay on the bag. If you are off the bag and tagged you are out. It's that simple. |

Frank. Runner stealing 2nd. Ball 4 to the batter. Runner doesn't know it was ball 4. He slides, touches the base and comes off. Cardinals tag him. He's out. |

oh, thanks. i mean. you get 2nd base on the walk. they cant tag you out in between first and 2nd...but once you get to 2nd, you come off the bag and your fair game. what a dumb play...and harry is an idiot for not realizing this |

Did MJH accidentally give out Boers and Bernstein's number? Why all the jackass callers? "I coached little league," "My dad coached little leage for 47 years," and even "I coach an undefeated tee-ball team" - what the HELL is going on? |

The only thing Harry learned in little league was how to avoid getting melting ice cream on his uniform. Harry is STEIN from the Bad News Bears. |

What's a few beer cups and hot dog wrappers in a stadium commonly used as a toilet by the same fans? |

During a commercial break, I flipped over to B&B. Boers was going off on this too. Bernsie got the essence of the rule right, but Boers was pretty strident saying if that's the case, then it is a bad rule and needed to be changed. He said it ought to be a dead ball immediately on the call of ball 4, but had no answer for what would happen in the event of a passed ball or wild pitch on ball four. We may pick on Harry, but this is just a reminder that he's not the only dumbass in town. Even the self-proclaimed smartest baseball guy in town is a dumbass on this one. |

If Boers thinks it's a bad rule, then it shall be! MLB are a bunch of dopes. Hang up on 'em. |
