This is what was emailed in to the boys, but it won't be read over the air. After all, they have to 'put parameters' on what is read, much like Jerry Reinsdorf does prior to interviews. So what's good for the goose isn't good for the gander I guess: When I think of a 'big name' free agent signed by one of my favorite Chicago 'teams' that ended in a mitigated disaster - one name comes to mind, and he signed last year around this time: Sean Salisbury Sorry if I offend.... I'm not in the feel good business. He's not in the good daily radio show business either. Later, Harry Timbercrank |

Nice Grid. I went with Charlie Hough, although it wasn't too bad considering he was able to supplement his low salary with Social Security and Medicare. |

Great one Harry, I hope they read it. My entry is Phillip Daniels but I'm not sure if he was "great" enough prior to coming to the Bears. |

Was Salisbury great before he reached Chicago? Expectations may have been great from management for this show but I think listeners knew this one was doomed from the start. |

Yes Koch was a trade. I also think his name should be removed from any mention of being a bust due to what recently came out about a disease he and his family have. Here's a link to it. Edit: make sure to check out the video report to the right as well where they interview Koch and his wife. http://www.ktvu.com/news/9264350/detail.html |

How is Salisbury semi managable on TV, but when on radio he can't shut is stuttering mouth? Also, his lips are still stuck to Geoff Jenkins ass from todays interview. Everyone's his bud or pal, it's like those ugly fat chicks that call everyone they know, hun or sweetie. Drives me nuts. Also, the correct spelling of Mr. Jenkins first name is Jeff. Someone should tell him. |

I submitted Steve Sax for the White Sox, but I think I went over the timeframe. |

Bulls-Eddie Robinson for sure. I'll never forget how excited Bernstein was when they signed him. What a waste that guy was. |

How about Eddie Robinson? He might not have been great before coming to the Bulls but the expectations by Krause were very high. I guess Hawkeye is quicker than I am |

The 10 year rule comes into play here perhaps: Free agent aquisition busts: Bears: QB Kordell Stewart, DE Philip Daniels and CB Thomas Smith Cubs: Todd Hundley and that douchebag middle reliever from the Twins Bulls: This list begins and ends with one player: Eddie Robinson White Sox: Free agent signings? I can't think of any busts ($$$ vs. performance) of epic proportions Hawks: That goalie their overpaying right now |

TheTroy Hawkins is right there with Hundley when it comes to free agent signings. Neither has done anything since they left though but LaTroy was very good with the Twins so he gets my vote. |

I can't remember if it was a trade or not, but Navarro sucked either way. |

Recent memory - Chad Hutchinson. Keeping things in perspective... the guy was a 'street' free agent, and didn't get paid jack shit. |

If you consider the Score to be a Chicago "team", then North would qualify at $1.7 for 5 years. |

I'll agree with those who named Cordell Stewart and Eddie Robinson. Too bad the voting doesn't start in '96, thereby qualifying Albert "don't call me Joey" Belle. |
