From the "Urban Dictionary" online: Made popular by the HBO Series "The Sopranos", stugots is from "(qu)esto cozzo" in Italian, meaning "this cock" or "this dick". Often used in reference to someone being an asshole Incidentally, the Le Batard show is one of the few decent local sports talk shows down here in south FLA.

As a an immersed student of the language I always understood stugotz to mean dickhead. Asshole was more like culo or something like that. However, I did miss the class on verbal profanities.
