In keeping with Joe Crede (who stiffed me) I find it odd that people who win stuff at 1000 never seem to get their prize. I know Ryan , Mus and I think Doug have won prizes at ESPN 1000 and have either had to call Mac or others to resolve their problem . It's no big deal to me but it's the princeable of the thing .

I won one of those ESPN baseball jerseys and had the promotions girl call me to get my size and she was very nice and said 3 weeks ago that there going out that week and nothing has shown up. I could careless about the jersey and I really don't even want it but I find it odd that people never seem to get things that they have won . I'm starting to question my mail lady. Who knows she might being wearing the jersey and stole my Sox photos.

Don 't even bother Mackey , I don't even want it . I'm on the rag today and just feel like bitching about things . My wife is pissing me off this morning .

In the interest of fairness, I have won two prizes from ESPN1000 in the past year (a Wilson Golf prize pack and a gift certificate to John Cicco's Menswear) and received both in a reasonable time frame.

I actually got my prize very fast when I won something.

I got my prize really quick from the Score too. Although I didn't think it was really all that necessary to send my gift certificate for 2 Brown's Chicken value meals in a 2nd day DHL envelope

It all depends, Ed. Mac and I talked about it briefly at the Manniversary - he gets pissed because it isn't Promotions' name out there, its his. However, he has to believe (at least for a little while) that they are going to do their job. Sometimes they get it quickly; I've won stuff from ESPN that has come the same week. Other times, it doesn't come at all, and I write it off as a loss. Sometimes, like with the Seven Bridges package, I want it enough that I'll ask around. Twice now I've had on-air guys call me at work to figure something out - one time Silvy even offered that if I didn't get the tickets I was supposed to, Carm and he would take me and a friend to a Bulls game just to make it up to me.

Basically, the on-air guys feel terrible when it happens because it is THEIR reputation and fans. However, since they don't control the key to the prize closet, they are limited in what they can do.

Yesterday was the first time I've won something from espn1000 and I already received a fed ex package today with the tickets. I thought they went above and beyond in my case.

I 'll hold that Mackeyfish accountable on this one !!  I really don't care but I read about you guys having problems with getting your stuff and hear guys call into MJH and say they never got their prize.

If it was a foursome to 7 Bridges I'd be on the phone to someone . I'd land up giving the jersey to the homeless anyway .

BTW, saw the big banner for MJH at Heros West yesterday and my wife invited herself to the gig so I have to call my girlfriend and tell her not to show.

Sorry Spaulding .

I never have either, but that and the derby are on my list of things I must go to. From what I have heard, it's not the same as it was in the 90's but it is still a great experience.

Yea, its hit or miss. Sometimes its promotions fault. Sometimes its sales. I've won some stuff before and never got it either and also wrote it off as a loss. The only thing I"ve had a problem with was the airline vouchers, obviously something I would want to maybe hound a little bit for. It's got to be frustrating as hell to hosts who are virtually powerless in those situations. Maybe Joe Crede has a part time job at the station.

Not sure coach, I tend to avoid Champaign radio as a basic rule. I think there is a radio complex that houses a couple different stations around where you're talking about, but there could be a few such buildings for all I know. IIRC, the stations in the building I'm thinking of are news talk (some AM station) and light rock (97.5?)

I have to chuckle as the Fedex man just dropped off my ESPN 1000 baseball jersey . Thanks Mackey but it's going back to you and Jurko for your used jersey drive along with a Derek Jeter jersey a buddy sent me .

Funny stuff and it's a very nice jersey . Now if we could only get Joe Crede to read this board.

A question:

Are you that hard up for attention that you...

would open a thread
complain about a problem
have it resolved and then say you are going to just send it back

Let me give you an idea, those are free. Next time tell them to donate the jersey directly to Mac and then spend the money they wasted on the Fedex to purchase another one for someone else.

Nope , my wife gives me all the attention I need. I'm sure 1000 can afford to spend the 8 bucks on Fedex there champ. If your that upset give me your address and I'll send you the jersey .

Try and have a nice weekend . It's not the end of the world.

If I want a jersey, I'll pick one up from Mac personally. But thanks for the offer.

I'll have a great week-end just like every other.

I hope that more important endeavors to waste with our time with come your way soon. Try and get out of the house, you may find that there is more to the world than yourself.

Best of Luck.

Programmer, the idea that I get from most of Ed's posts is that he's a high-roller and wants people to know it.

I get the idea that Ed's a pretty generous guy who has a hard time understanding when people don't follow through with something they said they would do. And that he has one helluva basement

Who posts on a message board that isn't looking for some attention? Isn't the point of a message board to get others to read your thoughts? I don't post on here to read my own thoughts.

He seems to like to post about how much money he spends. Reminds me of one of the upper-management guys in my office.
