Harry is such a homer. On yesterday's show he stated that Sox fans upset with this season should travel north and cheer on his Cubbies. Wasn't it just a couple weeks ago that he was burying his team. Saying they had no chance, the bullpen sucked and they were going nowhere fast? Now he's all hopped up because they have put a little string of wins together and he thinks they are World Series bound. GIMME A BREAK!!! I am a life long Sox fan. I didn't care about the Cubs in '84, 89, '03 or any other time they were playing half way decent ball. I'M A SOX FAN!! I don't care about the Cubs. Never did. Never will. Why would I start now just because my team is playing like crap? This is the same schtick he was trying to sell the Cubs fans on in '05. This idea of his that there should be no fan division between the two clubs and we all should just get along and go with who seems to be playing better at the time. That it's all about "Chicago" baseball. It's a nice idea but has not basis in reality. There will ALWAYS be the division between the two teams fans. That's a fact of life that will never change. I've lived in the Chicago area all my life and I learned early on that you pick a side of town and that's your team. While he may be right that SOME Sox fans will align with the North Siders, I believe that the vast majority of South Siders will not. Then to further insult Sox fans, he says "If you hate the Cubs and don't want to jump on the band wagon, fine. But if you are a fan of "baseball", come cheer for the Cubs." I took that to mean that Sox fans are NOT baseball fans. Harry... you are living in a dream world. Give up on your notion of baseball harmony in Chicago. It ain't gonna happen. |

If I was a fan of baseball wouldn't I want to watch a team that's good, not one that is .500 and the only chance it has is that it may be the best of the worst division of baseball? |

As a fan of baseball, I wouldn't call the Cubs "good" - I'd watch the Tigers, the Red Sox, or (if I'm staying up late) the 2007 World Champion Angels |

I know. I just needed to vent. It's a tired song and dance on Harry's part. This quote feature sucks as much as the Sox bullpen. |

MUScholar, I was not saying the Cubs were good, but that I would want to watch a good team. I guess it wasn't clear, but the Cubs are the .500 team in a bad division. |

You're giving them too much credit. 7 games UNDER .500... ...just like the Sox. |

Crowntown Rick, you're being rather presumptuous here. To lose one's mind, they first must possess one. Remember, Harry's a loyal Cub fan. |

I was actually thinking Pat with straight hair and better glasses but it gets the point across. |

i try not to root against the cubs, but i certainly will never root for them either. and i know the sox are pretty much done for as far as the playoffs go this year, but from what ive seen so far from the cubs they arent making the playoffs either-- regardless of how bad the NL central may be. and if, by some slim chance, 81 wins ends up winning the NL central, the cubs certainly will not make it to the NLCS |

To lose one's mind, they first must possess one. Remember, Harry's a loyal Cub fan. I wouldn't call him loyal. Just my $.02. I was happy for my friends that were Sox fans that they won in '05. I certainly didn't root for (or against) them however as they mean nothing to me personally. They're not my team. You may question Harry's mental faculties all you wish, but not on the basis of his loyalty to the Cubs. He has none. |
