It has been some time since we've convened. I can get to it Sunday night/Monday morning if there might be any questions or comments.

Hey Mac-

Has ESPN/Disney tried to force or otherwise "suggest" changes to the show? I assume the answer is "yes."

Can you divulge what they've tried to do? I'd love to know how they think they could make it better.

Mac,

If you had to name one person who has hurt espn 1000 the most in the past year or two, who would it be?

Were you referring to anyone in particular with this comment?;

"When I hear disciplinary problem, I think: 'Aw, man. The guy is not punctual, he makes life miserable on co-workers, he can't sit through a remote and not drink until 7 o'clock.' "

Mac, what are you ging to improve a very stale show? The ratings decline show the attitude of "if you don't like it, don't listen" is working. Maybe you guys should re-think that strategy.

After reading your comments in Teddy's colum I got the feeling you felt your management team did not have your back this time around and it sounds to me your ready for a change and it's time to move on .

Jim Pastor seems to be "Pig Vomit " and the thorn in your side and a guy who's about to kill the golden goose. My question after my "Chet Coppeck" rant is are you ready to move back to the Score when your deal is done?

Mac,

Are you telling me that in 20 years or more of working in radio you don't know enough to not say "bitch" on the radio?

Do I think you should have had a two week suspension? Absolutely not. A complete overreaction, in my opinion.

But come on now...what gives here?

Mac, why does it seem you are the only one who can keep Harry to an acceptable level of acting like a radio professional? When you are gone, he just goes ballistic on the ass kissing, teddy bears and rainbows, mr skin, what's growing on crap. It seems like Jurko doesn't do anything and JD/Carm just cater to it. The last month has been really rough and I've gone from listening daily for a couple hours at least to maybe a total of 30 minutes over the last month total. I have HAD to turn it off a la Salisbury and Rosenbloom annoying-bad. I've met you all at remotes and events and think Harry has always been a nice guy and great to the listeners. I'm also one of few on this board that think he's pretty good when the 3 of you are together, but he has single handedly ruined your show for a month.

Mac,

With the latest ratings book and blogs everywhere, see Deadspin, et al., blasting ESPN's practice of a) promoting itself over the sports it covers, taking every opportunity to promote Disney related properties (the insipid ABC related guest appearances on MNF) and blatantly over promoting ESPN's sport "partnerships" (WNBA, MLS/Beckham, NASCAR, AFL, etc), b) downplaying those sports leagues who do not "play along" with ESPN (the NHL is Ex. A) and c) generally generating crap like Who's Now and The Bronx is Burning, do you think "ESPN fatigue" is finally setting in?

I do not think I am alone when I say that SportsCenter is unwatchable and ESPN syndiated radio programming is unlistenable because all of the content appears tightly scripted to fit Bristol management's (sales) agenda.

Mac,
Hypothetically speaking of course, let's say you were to suddenly not be workign for ESPN 1000, what is the length of your no-compete clause for other Chicago radio stations.

I think this is an excellent question.
I'm assuming that it has to be a national show (even though you would probably prefer a local show). Which national guy would you want to be the lead in?

If you're going to get suspended again could you please do so by going off on somebody more interesting than a nobody on CSN? I mean it would have been hall of fame radio to hear you get a 2 weeks suspension worth of ripping on Salisbury.

I wouldn’t expect an answer on the allotted local time vs national time. It's been asked on multiple occasions and I can't recall a single response. I would like to know what local ESPN affiliates are contractually obligated to carry, as opposed to what local management feels is most profitable/practical to carry. I suspect there is some overlap, but it'd be nice to know what the actual ground rules are.

How can you continue to work for a company that does not give you the freedom you need to call it like it is? I think we can all agree that it is just a matter of time...the writing is on the wall...this story will not end happily ever after. It may be now, it may be 3 months, it may be 1 year. I am sure you need the paycheck, but you have much more to offer us, and this station does not fit your personality and programming preferences. Examples:

1) Too much national programming
2) Too much censorship
3) Uncommitted co-workers like Waddle and previously Salisbury
4) Constant programming shuffles

Mac,

Reading your comments in Teddy's article it seems like you've accepted the fact that this suspension was justified. Thus, you haven't quit. You said you would if you thought a suspension was unjust.

Did you just accept this suspension because you have 3 years left on a deal and it would be tough to walk away from that? Had this happened with 6 months left on your deal wouldn't you have walked away?

Do you really think this suspension is just or have you just said it was so as not to go back on your word?

Mac,
While you've been on hiatus, have you been able to listen to Waddle & Silvy much? If so, how much of an improvement do you think the station made in using them to replace S & R? So far, I've liked the change.

Also, is John Clayton coming back for his Wednesday segment?

What was the hardest "mr. mom" thing you had to do while being out?

Mac,

Do you think the latest suspension was an attempt by management to "put you in your place" so to speak? (i.e. I'm the boss and your the employee).

If you are promising not to change your stripes, and to let the chips fall as they may, should we be prepared for more suspensions? If so, can you try and not do it right before your vacation?
Thanks.

Mac,

You mentioned that you hated the selection of Joakim Noah. Who would you have preferred the Bulls select with the 9 pick?
