I know its been well documented in this thread, but I am not so much bothered by Harry's over the top cubs love as i am just shocked that he can be so stupid. There are plenty of positive things to point out about the cubs, but instead of bragging about realistics things (Zambrano possibly winning the Cy Young, winning the central, winning 90-95 games), he brags about shit that is just so far out there and has no base really. It is really tough to argue that Lou Pineilla, he of the ONE World Series championship, is the greatest manager of all time. Mac called him out on this a few times but it is seriously just perpetuating his reputation as dumbass homer, who of course watches alot of sports, but at the same time is worse at analyzing them than my little sister.

As far as the Cubs winning the World Series, that is just a retarded statement. They have one of the better NL teams, but right now i think it is obvious that Boston, Detroit, Cleveland, and Anaheim at the very least are better than every NL team. I know the Cardinals won last year despite the same huge imbalance of power, but i think that was more an exception to the rule. I see it being between Detroit and Boston as to who wins the World Series, with the Mets probably being the favorite in the NL, but there are like 8-10 teams in the NL all within 5-6 games of eachother so it is still too wideopen to make a definitive call.

I guess in conclusion, along with almost every other poster on here, even cubs fans, i wish harry would just tone it down and not sound like such a moron

P.S. On a Critics note, Harry said yesterday in the past 60 days the Cubs are the hottest team in baseball, technically speaking that would be the Yankees. Thumbs down

I believe Harry said the Cubs had a stranglehold on the division yesterday. They are .001 points ahead of the Brewers. It really is not fun to listen to Cub discsussion with him because I do not trust any of his analysis.

Yeah and I could just sense through the radio Mac looking at him like hes an idiot, and he correctly called Harry out on that dumb statement.

Cubs are on their way, and they definitely look better than the Brew Crew, but there is alot of baseball left

He's probably the best baseball mind the Cubs have had in a long time though.

"Technically speaking" you're wrong (I can't believe I'm defending Harry).

Yankees
6/3 24-30
8/2 58-50

That makes them 34-20 the past 60 days. Yankees winning percentage over that span is .630.

Cubs
6/3 23-31
8/2 57-50

That makes them 34-19 the past 60 days. Cubs winning percentage over that span is .642.

Please check your math before you pull that thumb out.

Yeah i stand corrected, I was watching Sportscenter Wednesday night and they said the Yankees have the best record in baseball over the past two months, I guess i should have done some research to verify that before posting, but nonetheless harry sucks

is it just me that takes harry's over-the-top comments to be tongue-in-cheek, just to get a reaction out of mac, jurko, and listeners?

I am pretty sure Harry believes the shit spewing out of his mouth, if i thought he did it just to spark debates i would be a little more tolerant, but he sounds like the stereotypical dumbass homer who is blinded by his love for chicago teams and cant objectively analyze just about anything when it comes to chicago sports. I think he is strongest when analyzing the NBA, but it may just appear that way because he is sitting next to Jurko and Mac when talking NBA, so it isnt hard to look knowledgable in front of that group, when it comes to all other sports he has good analysis about every time he has a good joke... maybe once every few weeks

A long time ago Mac told Harry his opinions on sports had no credibility. I don't think that opinion has changed.

I have a feeling that he started out as genuine, then he realized all of the attention he's getting on this, so he's ratcheted it up a notch...or seven.

In those rare instances the two of them agree, that absolute of a statement would seem to be a problem, to a lesser host than Mac :?

Dead horse or not, I haven't chimed in so allow me to pile on as well. I'm an MJH fan since day one and a die-hard Cubs fan, but as long as Harry keeps up his team of destiny crap they've lost me.

I'll tune in on Bears Mondays in September (and maybe to hear JD on the Bears at 4) but as long as the Cubs keep winning, I'm putting the show on suspension. It doesn't appear to have gotten any better since Mac's return so I'll be back in a couple months.

tall midget award. sure, he's a good manager, but not legendary.

i love ozzie guillen and think he's a great manager, but i know he's probably 3 or 4 on the depth chart as far as greatest sox managers, let alone greatest ever

harry's over the top cub love is getting way out of hand. yes the cubs are the hottest team in baseball and are playing thier best ball since probably the ALDS in 2003, but they could be in 2nd place by sundown tonite. he needs to just cool it a little

How about the fact that the cubs probably have more talent than any other national league central division team and it took until August to get into first place. Lot of Managers could have done what Lou's done so far........which is nothing.

Careful what you believe coming out of SportsCenter. They can be more subjective and biased than Fox News sometimes. And they WANT the Yankees to be the story all the time...ALL...the...time.
