An absolute joy, mixed with (finally) a fun Cubs game to listen to (at least the 7th inning was).

Lot of nice give-and-take, and great chemistry. Love the fact that Finji is of my generation, and the drops of Muppet Babies, Ghostbusters the TV show, and TMNT, were a nice change of pace.

Great stuff (so far)!

I think they're talking over each other a little too much.

I totally disagree...Hood is too imitationey, laughy, and tangential today. Finji isn't jumping in enough, which I can excuse. The conversation about cartoons was pointless, boring and went on for too long. Not one person in this group can get conversations back on track until a segment is up.

Hood goes in x direction to be funny then Harry continues to go in x direction to try to be funnier and Finji isn't comfy enough to stop it. Way too much side tracking. I'm about 5 minutes away from turning it off. Keep me posted to let me know if I should tune back in.

I can tell Harry aint digging the fact Hood is there for the simple fact Hoody is funnier than Harry. I always got that vibe that when Harry and Hood are in the same room that there is tension in the air...

When J-Hood sat in last time with Mac and Harry it seemed that Mac was laughing a little louder and longer when Hoody was telling the jokes and Harry was off in the corner playing the 3rd bannana.

I guess I have a different taste in what I like to hear on radio. I like mish-mashes, raw, unpredictable radio--because it's live, and unscripted. While MJH are the cream of the crop, I like when talk meanders, and when it's not just about sports.

In fact...after listening to so much ESPN in one day, it's a nice break to listen to something other than sports, and not to have to turn the dial.

I give the effort a solid B. And Finji did a good job filling in; he's good.

I actually look forward to J-Hood's impersonations. I thought Finji was a bit flat. Carmen is a better driver.

After hearing about an hour of the show today, I've come to a conclusion. I managed to listen in after the Cubs game and Harry's over the top insistence that the Cubs are going to win the World Series this year made me want to drive downtown to punch him.

I'm a Cub fan and have long wanted the Cubs to win a WS, but being .5 games out in August in the worst division in baseball does not fill me with pride as a Cub Fan. I'm apprehensive at best and I'll get excited about the Cubs WS chances when they've only got a few outs to go in the WS and I'm rooting for Nas' prediction to come true. In true Harry fashion, he's already designing their WS rings.

Wonder if he'll have a long enough memory on monday to remember gloating about the weekend sweep of the Cardinals if the Cubs don't sweep?

I didn't hear any of todays show.

But Hood sucks. He forces everything and it just sounds awkward. He's not as funny as he thinks. He pauses after his imitation or one liner to wait for a laughter from his partners. If he doesn't get laughs he repeats himself. That sounds like begging for recognition to me.

It sounds like Spaulding and I are of like minds when it comes to Hood.

Finji got a shot today? Good for you Finji. Although I didn't hear it I'll bet there was no way Hood was gonna let you shine. He's fighting for air time. He isn't gonna let you squeze in Finji.

From the sounds of it that's what happened.

Yep did this today. Would start an impression, would stop if somebody was talking and then when that person finished he'd do his thing. He'd keep going til they gave him their courtesy laugh. I think Hood is better by himself, he really does have good insights and knowledge.

You're right and Harry was fighting for time too. I stopped listening at 4:30.

This doesn't bode well, Harry just did the MJH preview on M & M by imitating Ah-nold (at least I think it was supposed to be the Terminator...).

I thought they talked over each other too much. It wasn't a good fit with the three of them.

Yeah I am not a big Hood fan when he is in a 3 man booth, he clearly needs to be by himself or in a 2 man booth, and quite frankly, i dont know if he has what it takes to be on full time anytime before 7:00 p.m. I didnt enjoy the show very much and I thought Finji was nearly invisible. He might be good, but I hardly heard him speak.

With all due respect(is any even due?), I think its about time for Harry to leave the chicago sports radio scene. Can't he just replace Ronny Woo Woo or something as a new gig

Hood: Fingernails on a chalkboard. I'd rather listen to the hiccuping Jesse Rodgers and I hate Jessie Rodgers.

Harry: Sound of a dentist's drill. I'd even rather listen to Silvy, and I hate Silvy.

Too bad Mac is mailing this contract in. Just back up to the pay window Mackiefish. If this keeps going this way, this will be the last big payday you'll ever get.

Right on the money. The ratings decline isn't a fluke, the show has deteriorated quite a bit. If it doesn't improve soon, it will be the last big payday.
