Post subject:  WHY IS HARRY THERE?

Not really talking about this week, but why is he part of the show with Mac?

Why is he still on the air on AM 1000?

he has been there since Dahl had a simulcast show, 10-15 years ago?

Everyone else has ben fired from the place and for some reason he has always had a radio show and he is terrible.

His forced participation in Mac's show brings it down to another level and after 3 years of rough radio, physical fights and some just annoying show stoppers, why doesn't someone can that guy?

Daddy own a share of the biz?

Dude, you totally brought up something completely original.
I can't believe we've never talked about this.

Obvious guess, but dead wrong.
I have only one name and I don't like anyone copying my style.

Post subject:  Harry

I'll try and do something that's hard to do, but defend Harry, or why he is on the show. My opinion, but I know Jurko is there because of Mac and Mac would choose him over Harry, but I think Mac does like him. What Harry brings to the show is that he can break down a Chicago game really good, because he will watch the whole game, knows his college football, and does have some good jokes some of the time. I think the main problem with Harry is not as much, but a little like Salisbury is hard to change. I know he wants to try and have fun with it, but people don't want to have fun, like if the Cubs or White Sox are losing and people are mad, he will try to have and people don't want that. In Closing, when Mac is gone, they might as well play a station bleep, because nobody listedns to the show.

Last week, I didn't listen to the station. Silvy/Waddle isn't compelling to my tastes (I'll listen to 'em, but Mully/Hanley are fine, too) Patrick's swan song was a negative, and Harry-All-Stars was the clincher.

It's all down to Mac; MJH is either compelling, or just run Sporting News Radio. No pressure, Mac :-)

I agree with you, it is up to Mac. Mike and Mike are ok in the morning, until they persist on steriods, Michael Vick, etc.. and beat these subjests to absolute death. The rest of the programming is mediocre at best. Mac's show is one I like and listen to. The problem with the show is Harry. To me, he adds absolutely nothing. Bad comedy, continual sucking up(ie Mark Grace, etc) and has a juvenile knowledge of all sports. If they dump him and realize drive time isn't meant to be a tryout for bad parody songs, bad jokes and simplistic sports knowledge, then maybe they will recapture the audience. If they don't realize it, then the ratings will continue to fall.

Coming up next on Mike and Mike, you won't believe the latest info we have on Michael Vick...

I think all of the Harry bashing is getting old. One thing that makes MJH great, is the different backgrounds and experiences of the hosts. Jurko played in the NFL. Mac is a self-made radio man, and Harry is a trained comic who has been in movies and done stand up.

Harry is a guy a lot of us relate to. Sleeping on the recliner, drinking tequilla, or just being a homer is what makes Harry who he is.

Some advise.

Defending Harry around here is one of the most pointless things you can do. Believe me, I've tried. I have given up on that argument.
