And like a knucklehead, I misplaced the missive. I'm blaming it on Rex Grossman's sweaty wrists. Seriously... good to hear from you, Ryan. The show's e-mail "library," and this section of the board, have not been as interesting without your participation.

I'm a Bears fan, Nas. Happy would not be my emotion when the head coach of a potential Super Bowl team can't see what we commoners see: a bad quarterback.

Grossman is the best QB on the roster. Bottom line. He's the only one that can win a Super Bowl.

It's his contract year. If he sucks the Bears will get a new one next year. It won't be Orton or Griese.

I think Grossman will be here for 10 years.

Woodridge Ryan hasn't been as passionate about the show or the message board ever since Harry called him out on the radio. Not good business to call out one of your biggest fans imho. He can blame it on a new job all he wants, but it's just way too coincidental. Plus working the drive through window at White Castle isn't THAT demanding.

First, thanks Mac for the kind words. My e-mail was accusing Dickerson of turning into the Tiny one when he said "he didn't know" who would win in a race between Danieal Manning and Devin Hester. Sure it may be a close race, but he damn well knows who would win. JD's been around the Bears too long so he might need to take a step back and stop drinking the Tiny Koolaid.

As for my absence Grid, it has had nothing to do with the Tiny One. We've emailed back and forth a few times since. I truly am on the phones too much during the day to participate or engage in the show as much as I used to. I suppose I found a job where I don't get board after awhile. So if I can't really listen, how can I actually have any coherent thoughts to mail into the show?

Secondly, and I know my thought isn't a popular one by the hosts or people here, I've found MJH to be a bit boring lately. Maybe it's because I was such a P-1er for so long that hearing the same stories out of Harry's mouth every 3 months or hearing the same old jokes or the parody songs just weren't as funny after awhile. I just haven't been entertained for some reason.

Unlike others who bash Harry, this has nothing to do with Harry. The show has been better without him just being Mac and Jurko, but - at the same time - I also like the show better when it's Harry and Mac. I think it becomes more of a sports talk show with a few random nuggets here and there. Or, maybe this is just more evidence that Mac is clearly the best talk show driver in town. However, the three of them have become maybe too comfortable to the point where its a show about "being a guy" and they just happen to be on a sports talk station. Again, I could be way off base though because I'm not listening for three to four hours a day like I used to. Maybe I always seem to be catching that part of the program. I do listen to their podcasts from the day before on my commute. Idealistically, I think it'd be interesting if they hire'd about 15 of us for a two week period and give us those green and red buzzers like they do to those commercial test groups when deciding what commercials are good/bad. I think the results could actually give them some insight. Again, they've been top dog for the past 3-4 years so maybe even idealistically that type of insight would be useless.

Since I have been listening to podcasts lately I've got to say that Waddle has finally settled in for me and "Waddle and Silvy" is one of the better show out there right now. I've also been listening to "The Herd." I know the locals love bashing anything that's national, but Cowherd covers everything and the best thing about him is he actually brings something new to the table a lot. Unlike Dan Patrick who looks at headlines and gives very uncreative opinions and arguments on his topics, Cowherd always has a different perspective or idea to consider about major topics, but more importantly people, places, events, and things in the sports world nobody else is talking about from time to time. His interview with the Pac-10 commissioner a few weeks ago was one of the best interviews I've heard all year on the radio. commercials.

Well thought out post Ryan. As for the point you made above, you are not alone in noting the lack of entertainment value in the last few months. Welcome back.

He's not a bad QB. In terms of playing experience, he's still a young QB, and he played pretty well in his first full year of actual playing time. I don't think there's any substitute for being on the field. Obviously, we are all looking for more consistentcy this year from him, less peaks and valleys.

he certainly may or may not be a bad QB, but is the worst "snap taker" in the fucking NFL.

its a huge issue. interceptions are gonna happen. so will a fumble ON OCCASION...getting hit from the blind side, etc. but as bad as kyle orton, jonathin quinn, krenzel, etc were, i dont remember them ever, let alone constantly dropping snaps

C'mon guys. Rex promised that he wouldn't do it again. We should take him at his word. He's earned it, right? Right?

(By the way, 2 games into the preseason and Rex is already infiltrating every section of this board!)

That didn't take long, did it? I'm pretty sure Rex will even find his way into the Tunes section before long.

because its such a stupid issue. i dont know who gets the gomer award, lovie or rex. lets look at it this way- he keeps dropping snaps. well, what happened to chuck knoblauch when he couldnt throw the 80 feet from 2nd to first? what about rick ankeil who threw more pitches to the backstop than his catcher, in the playoffs no less! the coaches got them the fuck out of dodge. either rex needs to put some super glue on his hands, or get out from under center.

I don't think T.Rex was as consistent as they should have been. Monster hit with Bang A Gong and then, nothing.

Frank, I wouldn't put Rex at the same level as knoblauch and ankeil yet. He's done this in two games basically, the superbowl and preseason game 2. Let's see how he comes back in game 3 and 4.

In his interview on MNF, Rex said that the superbowl was the first time fumbling the snap has been an issue. Rex wouldn't lie to me! Maybe he did, but fumbling the snap two or three times a year is not uncommon for a quarterback. Twice in a game is ridiculous. If he would have thrown 6 td's, everyone would say its just a preseason game. Vice versa should be true shouldn't it?

Not to pile on, but wasn't it two consecutive snaps in the Super Bowl?

I seem to remember Rex having issues receiving the snap during the season... not just the SuperBowl. Am I imagining things?

The redesigned NFL.com blows chunks.

Here's the Fumble Leaders from last year. It only shows fumbles LOST though - and these aren't necessarily all center/QB exchanges:

http://stats.washingtonpost.com/fb/lead ... g&rank=086

Rex is tied for 8th.

None of the QBs in the list have good lines to protect them and I'd bet they weren't fumbling the snap.

You're right NFL.com sucks ass now.

Look at the fumbles kept vs. fumbles lost (fk vs, fl). Rex had 5 fumbles lossed last year and 2 fumbles kept so 7 fumbles total. Compare that to Carson Palmer and Tom Brady.

And then compare completion percentage and INT's. :-)

I’M FEELING A BIT VERKLEMPT

Bill Buckner letting a ground ball go between his legs in the 6th game of the WS vs. Rex Grossman dropping 2 snaps in a meaningless preseason game. Discuss
