Thanks for all the compliments, criticisms and suggestions on the show…keep them coming. Mac got what he was looking for from his initial post about our big meeting on Monday. Your thoughts on the show are marinating with all of us.

I know all the guys on the crew read the boards regularly and we appreciate the feedback. Mac and Finji are regular posters. Jurko is an avid reader of the boards and makes it one of his daily stops when he is doing his show-prep. Harry wants to post…he just hasn’t figured out how to use a mouse just yet…but he’s working on it.

Speaking of Finji, check him out tomorrow when he takes the plane for a ride with Mac and Jurko. I know he’ll be entertaining because I sit two feet from him for four hours a day.

I got a great gig being named the Executive Producer of this show. I was a big fan of the show and the guys before I became a part of the team. That being said, I’m not just along for the ride…I’m going to navigate the plane. We have a really good show, but we know it can be better...and it will be.

I’ve been a daily reader of these boards for a while and I know you all have tons to offer the show. So if it is cool with you, I’d like to open the lines of communication between the show and you...not just when Mac asks for the feedback. I’m asking you to keep the suggestions, questions, concerns, compliments and ideas coming at me. I can’t promise we’ll use them all…but you never know.

Thanks,
Zederman

Sounds like ESPN1000 is way more committed in general so far to listener feedback then the Score is. I think I can see where the overall future of chicago sports radio is going

Interesting show, Mac having Carmen driving the bus. Except Mac really couldn't give up control... You almost have the right idea. Don't give a damn about Carmen: he has his own show to drive. What I care about is keeping the other two sharp and chatty.

Next time Mac gives up the seat, Jurko's in charge. He's in charge all week. He keeps the other two sharp and on topic. I don't care if he can't press the cart buttons right. No sound effects, then. The next week, Harry's in charge. Rotate. Doesn't mean we necessarily run Harry's idea of good (the royal "we", of course) segments; it means when he's on, he keeps Mac and Jurko from wandering. When Jurko's on, same deal. When the other two go wildly off, the driver can then feel the pain/ frustration of fixing it, on-air. End result, more focused hosts.

Of course, then we'll have a contest: whichever bus driver who keeps his brethren in line the worst gets to be ripped to shreds on this board. Nothing new, there :-)

Danny, I just saw an old movie with your old man in it. ;)

Keep up the solid work young man. If you're lacking for guests, talk to Chet Coppock, he'll line you up with a Brian Noble, a Brendan Suhr and former LSU Hoops Coach Dale Brown. Also, with football right around the corner, his pal Chuck Esposito from Caesars in Vegas could do a handicapping segment on Fridays.

He could get the hot towel treatment at Sportcuts.

I think the production of this show is excellent. There is rarely a problem. When there is, you guys do a good job fixing it or it's not in your control. Your rejoins are great and you're quick with getting info.

Bring back the Jurko man on the street interview. That send up of the Chicago Sports Exchange when he interviewed the construction guy was gold.

Gold, I say.

Congrats too on the new gig.

I'm sure you'll do very well and it's good to see you've gotten your first mistake out of the way by soliciting input from us.

So, here's three more segments that will vault you to the top -

1. Fighting Illini sports discussion - it is a void that the people of Chicago are aching to have filled. The Zook Nook?

2. NASCAR updates - I'm sure Jurko could fill 2 segments a day talking about what number Junior is going to race next year.

3. Fantasy Football Continent - all day on Fridays - Harry can help me figure out the second kicker I need to start in my 20 team league.

There you go. Free of charge.

I was serious about the Jurko interview. I say send Jurko to a different workplace once a week for a segment where he asks questions about what they do and tries to link it to sports somehow.

I can see Jurk on the trading floor asking a guy if he ever thought about taking another guy out with a blindside tackle.

Might be more of a TV bit but the one he did before was funny I thought.

They don't have a TV show. It would be alright occasionally and has the potential to be funny.

Your ideas about Illini, Nascar, and FF are terrible even if you were kidding. :)

They will after they use Dr. Ken's ideas.

Another idea - refer to yourselves in the third person at all times.

Here's a suggestion, don't use faggy phrases from bad movies. Neither you nor I should even know what Kissing Jessica Stein is about.

But ALWAYS listen to Dietrich Knickerbocker & Old Man Potter.

Thanks for acknowledging the masses. Regardless of whether or not you think we're all full of feces, I appreciate that you big time show biz people care enough to fraternize with us weird internet people.

I'm on board with Beebo's idea of rotating drivers (if Mac could actually sit back and effectively let someone else drive on a regular basis). I think that minor personel change could significantly "freshen" the show. It wouldn't have to be for weeks at a time, but maybe once or twice a week.

BTW, did Seanycakes ever show you his cell phone?

Ken Griffey, Jr. is racing next year? And he won't be 24? That's the only Junior in sports.

You all need to watch more manly movies like "Return to Me" as I did last night with my wife - featuring Ice Cream Clerk Harry Teinowitz.

I like Beebo's idea about mixing it up every once in a while. I'd love to here Jurko drive the show.

More parody songs from Finji throughout football season. You gotta have Tait.

I'm not sure if there is a way to fix the disaster that was Jurko vs. Harry but I really like trivia games. Maybe there is a way to bring back the segment in a different form.

I have no problem with Harry's over the top love for chicago teams. I like Mac and Jurko's reaction to his comments and it makes for some entertaining radio when they go at it. Just... no shoving or sack kissing please...

I liked the idea of Mac sitting in the passenger seat more often, but having Jurko or Harry drive the bus is ASKING for bad radio.

I loved Jurko v. Harry... even when it was bad. I'd love to see it return. It's success depends on the quality of callers and because of that it will be hit or miss. WYC is the same way... and on occasion it totally blows, but more times than not it makes for good radio and it keeps the listeners on the show.

A "faggy" movie about a hot woman's introduction to lesbian sex w/ another hot woman.

Must be another movie because neither of them was hot

Jennifer Westfeldt is hot - she looks really good in Notes From The Underbelly. The other one looks like she was hit in the face with a two by four, and the swelling is just now going down

Was that some Illini talk and a NASCAR update I've heard already?

Can't wait for the Fantasy Football Continent segment.

We got some Purdue football thrown in there. The show gets an A+ from me.

In all seriousness, I am enjoying the show today.

Not bad so far. I'm looking forward to J. Hood tonight. They're letting him do highschool football talk.

Could a Wrestlemaniacs return be on the horizon?
