Congrats to our Buddy "Deep" (Brian Sawa) on a nice job this past Saturday on his fantasy football preview and breakdown of playes with Harry at the convention and on the air over the weekend.

I think he's stoned by putting Drew Brees ahead of Peyton Manning as the best fantasy QB in the draft but he had Jay Cutler in the top 10 as well.

I want to meet your Weather girl Deep.

I'M wondering if Mac and Harry play nice today after Dan's comments in the paper and his on air shots at Harry all week?

I'm wondering how a slam on Deep immediately turned into the Mac & Harry Saga....

That is insane - you have to question his credibility if he has Drew Brees ranked ahead of Peyton Manning as the best fantasy QB.

I will say that New Orleans probably faces weaker defenses than Indy.

Since Mac's article this feud is taking on Vick-like publicity on this board

I disagree with him on the cutler thing but I dont see him being far off on Brees. Brees has almost as many weapons around him as Peyton does, and a better running game. I dont know if thats too much of a stretch.

Yet it will never attain "Should Rex Start?" status...

True enough.

OK first of all thank you Ed for the kind comments but let me explain a few things. One Culter is our #12 QB but will be a few slots lower in next rankings that come out Wed.

Brees over Manning, let me explain, Manning is by far the better NFL QB but not a better Fantasy QB this season.

Last season Brees threw for more total yards than Manning 4424 to 4397 in basically 1.5 less games. Brees played only a half in week 16 and played less than a quarter in week 17. In Manning's last 2 games vs. Houston and Miami Manning threw for 487 and 5 TD's. Thus the difference in 31-26 TD Manning vs. Brees

After 15 weeks Manning and Brees were basically neck and neck in TD's and Brees had big advantage in yards the only difference was Manning rushed for 4 TD's in 2007 his 1st rushing TD's since 2002 so the odds of Manning running more than 1 TD in again is very unlikely.

If Brees plays the last two weeks in games that mattered he might have outscored Manning last season. Also Brees threw for 8-300yard game and 1-500 yard game to Manning 6-300 yard games.

I feel that Indy's poor defense and teams gunning each week for the Super Bowl Champs that Manning and the Colts will have less offensive chances than Brees and the Saints.

Is Brees a better NFL QB, NO WAY but this season he will be a better fantasy QB based on strength of schedule, his younger weapons and Sean Payton calling the plays.

Here is a tidbit from article we posted about Manning vs. Brees

So it may defy logic, it may challenge the conventional fantasy football wisdom, it may even seem like utter hogwash, but... Drew Brees is fantasy football's top quarterback this season. Manning is still great — he's still in the top two and you'd be lucky to have him, but Brees is where it's at. He's got the pieces, he's got the right coaching staff behind him, and he's had a year to get completely comfortable with his new offense and its personnel. And finally, perhaps most importantly, he has the competitive drive and the motivation gleaned from an absolute shellacking at the hands of the Chicago Bears in the NFC Championship game, while Manning and the Colts now have Super Bowl rings and an apparent attack of hubris.
Add it up and it tells a clear story: when your fantasy draft comes along, bet on Brees.

Good stuff Brian. Are there pictures on the website of the Sausage Fest Harry described?

I caught the latter part of you spewing your acumen on us. I must have missed the part about the Ravens WR Demetrius Williams as a late round sleeper in 12 team keeper leagues. ;)

Nice stuff on Bo Scaife though. I knew who he was. ...keep him.

Rumor has it that Sawa picked up Lance Briggs in his clown car off the Edens this morning and informed Lance he's a mid to late 9th round pick in the Mackeytops Fantasy football lig. :P

I didn't get a chance to listen yesterday, but I'm sure Harry took a few shots, just probably not at Mac but with Jose  .

I would take Brees over Manning because you can get him in the 3rd round and get two much better RB's to go with him compared to Manning in the 1st and two second rate RB's to go with him. Brees is the smarter play because of where he will be picked.
