If it is indeed a 2:00 start, please justify the change. What great advantage does starting at 2 and ending at 6 have other than getting a longer evening to enjoy concerts, ballgames, etc.? |

So simply shifting to "their" time slot evens the playing field? I don't buy it. |

He's going to announce that Slapshot Ed has traded the #1 and #25 overall picks for HPK's #4 and #13 overall picks - thus confirming HPK is the Matt Millen of the Mac and Jurko Fantasy Football League. |

I thought they'd be able to kick the Score's ass in September due to MEANINGLESS White Sox baseball broadcasts, but truth be told, there's only 5 games that will take place prior to the 6PM hour, and only two after the NFL Season officially kicks off: http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/schedul ... m=9&y=2007 Time for Justin Craig to make a wise broadcasting move - MJH from 2PM to 6PM. |

Seriously, someone explain why moving to 2-6 is such a miraculous programming move. The average person (me) gets out of work at 5 or 5:30. If MJH ends at 6, that's a half hour or so of listening. I would think that getting the average listener during drive-time (5pm-7pm as I see it) would be a bigger priority then getting that coveted 2pm-3pm sparse listener who can tune in while at work. Not good. No. No. No. |

I'm hoping this is about some local show assuming the noon-to-3 shift. The prospect of never again having to hear Dan Lebetard has me giddy. |

I think it will be the time change, because when Mac was suspended that was written in the article by Greenstein that it would move from 2-6. If it is not other possibe things, take 5 1. Hood will do a college football show on Saturdays. 2. Sunday Night John will be back or gone. 3. The show after MJH is now Hood, Defalco, and Dickerson. 4. The Bears pregame show has added somebody new. 5. A trip to somewhere for a Bears game. |

It's the announcement that via The Nonsense Factory, The Dan Patrick Show will return between noon and 3PM. The Nonsense Factory is an exciting endeavor dreamt up after too many libations at Keefers Restaurant at 20W Kinzie. The Nonsense Factory led by Dan Patrick, will revolutionize and customize how broadcasting content will be distributed for both traditional and the multitude of new media channels that exist today. The plopping sounds you'll be hearing around 1PM will be people falling asleep in their cubicles, people dropping over in a catatonic state near flat screen monitors at gas pumps, and ESPN Radio franchisee executives leaping from buildings in disbelief that they bought into such nonsense. |

Would a decision to not give away the 2:00 hour to the Score's best and most-listened-to show "justify" the change for you? That is, if that's what the announcement is. And if we did start the show when B&B do, what says we have to stop doing our show at 6:00? Hmmmmmmm. 4:00, kids. |

Otherwise, your logic would be flawed as while you miss the coveted 2pm-3pm hour, you gain the 6pm-7pm hour, which, as I said in a following post, would allow more listeners driving home, rather than the few that can actually listen at work between 2pm-3pm. Besides, would you be able to keep Jurko awake for an extra hour? |

The average person (me) gets out of work at 5 or 5:30. If MJH ends at 6, that's a half hour or so of listening.. Some of this explanation is BS. I'll do that first: according to Mac, listenership does a swandive at about 6pm. And of course, disappears around 2am. So, we have their primary competitor, B&B, running at the 2pm hour against zero competition (either the now-departed Dan Patrick or the army of replacement drones.) Everyone moves over to 670. Now, what do you do to move them back to 1000 at 3pm? If B&B are doing a "good enuff" show, there's not enough reason for a large enough contingent to spin the dial. MJH loses. With the poor lead-in from the drone-army show, they lose there, too. |

If that's true, then I stand corrected and will quietly fall into line. It just doesn't seem logical to me. Is it because that ratings keepers don't take their logs into their cars with them? Though I do understand that there is an advantage for the B&B "early" start if they can be good enough to hold a listener through 3pm... |

Jurko has a tough enough time staying awake for 4 hours, what is he gonna do with a 2-7 work day ? |

My guess is that they will be going from 2-7 temporarily until a permanent replacement for Patrick is in place. |

I've always been ok with the 2pm start because being in the eastern time zone gives me more listening time before the future wife get's home. I rarely listen after 4:45-5:00pm central time, but i'm in the minority so i'll put a sock in it. |
