For all those involved in ESPN 1000's Fantasy Football League, here is some information you might be interested in knowing: In league 13, there are 2 brothers-Adam and Brandon Evans (Team Evans and Team Hamburger). In the draft one of these clowns drafted Laurence Maroney in the first round, with the 10th overall pick, then after his brother was given the first overall position for pick-up's, he DROPPED Maroney, so his brother could pick him up and stack his team (which he did). After bringing this to the attention to the guys in charge of the league, they have done NOTHING! They are making this league and the station look like crap. What a sham. There were to be no drops of the top players, as well as no trades, to avoid this exact type of problem, but here we are. I'm not even in league 13 (I'm in league #12) but I am as angry with ESPN for not handling this right, as those two dillholes who pulled this classless move. I encourage anyone else in the league who is outraged by this, to contact ESPN's guy in charge of the league ( I forgot his name) who can be reached at 312-980-1018 and let him know how you feel about their failure to act in this situation. |

Better email this person Steve: Stephanie Zimmermann, 41, writes the four-times-weekly consumer column, "The Fixer," and covers consumer issues for the Sun-Times. Having previously worked as a journalist in such far-flung locales as Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Nairobi, Kenya, Stephanie is equally adept at investigating shady companies and recommending a good place for roasted goat. Stephanie spent a bucolic childhood in Wisconsin, but for most of the last 23 years has called Chicago home. In her high school years, she spent a good portion of her time crawling around like a kitten in my lair. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in journalism from Northwestern University and has won a number of local, state and national reporting awards. I think my 8 team league is stacked too. Nobody else will have a chance against me, but this is due to their utter ignorance more than anything. |

Hey Beef, Having a stacked team due to great drafting on your part, as well as poor drafting on the part of others, is a completely different story. But I have also thought about writing down a list of things they might do next year, to avoid more problems. I mean, lets say I got a couple dozen guys together to go to the ESPN draft-then I have everyone else picking Rex Grossman's and Joey Harringtons, etc... with early draft picks, while I pick Tomlinson, Manning, etc... They have to have random numbers assigned to people as they arrive, to keep friends in different leagues for the most part. I know my friends would never pull the kind of stunt the Evans brothers did, we all want to kick each others butts too much to consider it. But I do intend on making a list of suggestions. I know what you mean about other guys helping by drafting poorly. In my league at ESPN a guy drafting 2nd in the first round, took Carson Palmer. Now I really like Carson Palmer, but 2nd overall?? God bless him.... |

Good sportsmanship and ethics aside, did these people break any official rules. Drafting allegedly like idiots, morons and Matt Millen may not be an official rule - with fantasy football it's all about opinion. Hell, even in the high and mighty NFL - Priest Holmes, Kurt Warner and Rod Smith were never drafted.. |

No-they are actually brothers-you had to check in at the Hilton with a photo ID and draft in person. |
