Is anyone else having a problem with Directv's local HD feed today? First the Bears game and now the Giants Cowboys game. The picture keeps pixelating, and is unwatchable. If this is happening to to others, a big thumbs down to Directv.

When talking about Everson Walls donating a kidney to his teammate, John Madden said something to the effect: "Anytime you can give another teammate a body part, you're a great teammate."

Having been roommates with Esera Tuaolo, I'm sure Jurko's rectum tightened up if he heard Madden say that.

Was it Ted Williams that received a liver transplant? I think it was. Anyway, the bemusing part of that is the post op interview of the medical team where some journalist asked "And how is the liver donor doing?" The lead doctor looks at the journalist and, after a noticeable pause, say "You must be a sports journalist, am I right?"

Just reminded me with the wink. Abit of a non-sequitor, I admit.

It was Mickey Mantle

Yeah. I was thinking about all of the morons who were calling into the shows around that time seriously offering up their livers...

The liver can regenerate and there are cases of live liver donors.

Thumbs down to two back and back bad commercials. A bad 'dick in a box' parody and a creepy MNF 'coworker kissing your wife' commercial.

Thumbs up to that Silvy montage, is that available in MP3 format?

Thumbs down to Mac to bringing stupid stuff to the air again, trying to start another conflict (Harry/Silvy, making Harry take a shot on Silvy's upbringing or whatever with the Jewish thing)

If you give away your liver, you now have no liver. How can no liver regenerate?

Liver liver liver...looks weird now doesn't it?

Agreed on all points, that MNF commercial needs to go away. Harry is fucking stupid for making fun of Mike Brown crying though. Anybody who didnt get at least a bit choked up watching that has no heart. You gotta feel really bad for him, hes one of the most unique players I have seen in a long time.

Live donor liver transplant is a procedure in which a living person donates a portion of his or her liver to another. I think some hospitals started doing them in the early 90's and it has a pretty high success rate.

Thanks for the info, but no one ever said a word about donating a portion of their liver. I guarantee that 99% of the meatheads who called in at that time thought they had two.

Gotcha. There are a lot of misconceptions about transplants and each is very different. Now if people start calling in about heart transplants you have some real goofs.

2 Items that are menutia (sp?)

1. Danny Mac said that Gary Danielson went to Northwestern yetserday. He actually went to Purdue

2. Harrry called the ND TE John Connoly on more then 1 occasion. His name is Carlson.

Although we do not waste CXL time with this I wanted to mention it.

All day yesterday the update guys called the paralysed Bills player Kevin Everett a rookie. He's been around for 2 or 3 years.

I would like to give a thumbs down to the Chicago media for barely mentioning the Original Zen-Master going into the HOF this past weekend. I know there has been a lot of stuff going on (Bears, Cubs, College Football, more Bears), but Big Chief Triangle is an icon, and maybe someone should have said something.

Unless I missed something, of course, then thumbs down to me.

Nas posted about it.

Great point made during critics today....Some guy just called in and wanted to know why they replayed the Benson interview at 5:40 when there is a best of 6:00 PM hour, and Mac's lame response was that people may have missed the interview at 2:30. Sounds like the show cashed it in a bit early that day.

Is Mac on the verge of another suspension? He's been testy lately as evidenced by how short he is with callers about his childish Rex Grossman bashing and just now he got a little bitchy about someone giving a thumbs down to the "best of" hour. Calm down Mac, if you want to get treated like shit all the time and not just some of the time, I'd be happy to give you a tour of my job.

Don't get him started with a comment like that! Let's not play that game again. Mac worked his way to get where he is so that statement will mean nothing to him.

He also threw management under the bus, stating that the "Best of" format was not his idea.

Who said anything about not working hard? Don't put words in my mouth. The quote is right there! Read it. "if you want to get treated like shit all the time and not just some of the time, I'd be happy to give you a tour of my job." Mac has earned his position and should enjoy it and not allow occassional nuisances to control him so much...it brings the show down. I don't have the luxury of having influence like Mac does at ESPN and NEVER get to see my ideas heard much less actually implemented like Mac does. I listen for entertainment. The show sucks when Mac lets likely petty things bother him. What's so hard to understand?

Mike, I understand what you are saying. Your comment you made has been made on this board before I think you ever posted here and we had a whole thread I think with this as the topic. I was giving you the Cliff Notes response. Sorry. I seem to piss of newer board members a lot these days. I'm definitely past my prime on here...if I ever had one.
