My God, when will Lovie come to understand that Rex is too mistake prone, to trust as his quarterback?? Another 2 interceptions and a lack of big plays. He had opportunities in the game to throw deep to berrian, but he chose not to (fearing another pick?). In the past, it was said that we had to take the bad with the good-a fair number of big play touchdown passes, along with the picks. But now, we are just getting turnovers, without the big strikes. In game one, it was a bit understandable-San Diego has a terrific defense. But K.C.?? If he can't make things happen against the Chiefs, it's time for a move. The trends he established the second half of last season-fewer touchdowns/more turnovers, continues... |

yawn on the user name detective work... Rex will get injured before he gets benched. If he gets benched - it won't happen until the Bears bye week in early November - prior to a game against Oakland. "Rex is our quarterback" - Lovie Smith |

I've made a lot of kids cry in class. Rex would have been one of those kids with piss running down his leg. He's useless. He's not a winner. |

"Rex is our quarterback" - Lovie Smith I don't really think he is you, Grid, just that he insists on posting Bears thoughts in the MJH section. |

That would be horrific. |

That's right, Rex was the only one that made mistakes on offense. Nobody else had a turnover (BERNARD BERRIAN) Nobody missed blocks (FRED MILLER). No one dropped passes (BERRIAN, MOOSE, BENSON) i'm sorry, but this was A TOTAL TEAM EFFORT of mediocrity offense. |

Totally agree, but Rex Grossman has been playing poorly, outside of some pockets of brilliance, since the 1st half of last season. |

Eh, it was bound to happen anyways. If you watched "The Final Word" last night, you could just see Jurko straining to hold back his Rex animosity. It's going to be an anti-Rex deluge starting 2 this afternoon, methinks. |

Now why would anybody go and deluge Grossman with criticism? His rating was, what almost 60? |

Mac's got a boner today. Bears win and Rex played bad. Mac loves these Mondays. Can't argue Mac. Rex played bad. But our receivers suck too. Nobody can get open except Berrian. |

Oh, I didn't say there's anything wrong with that! I, for one, could use the therapy. |

I, for one, could use the therapy. Hey relax everyone. You'll be seeing the other QB's soon The combination of Rex's blitz reads and Benson's blitz pick up's, pretty much guarantees that Rex will be pissing blood within a couple weeks. |

The most disappointing thing is that Rex has seemed to regress during the game. He actually made a good read on a few hot routes early (he has only done that once or twice during the last few years) and then started making the same old mistakes as the game moved on by throwing off the back foot and staring down routes. Griese would be a dependable move the chains type of QB, and that may be all this team needs to reach 10-12 wins this year. It also seems like Turner has lost faith in Rex and is not calling for as many deep throws. If you are not going to call for deep routes (which is Rex's strength) and Rex cannot make the quick read or make an accurate throw then why is he playing in front of Griese? Griese is much better at reading defenses and making accurate throws. Isn't that what the West Coast Offense is built upon? |

Or maybe Turner isn't calling for the deep routes because he doesn't trust the offensive line to block defenders for the extended time such routes require? |

That almost sounds like a backhanded defense of Rex. Are you OK TM? Did you eat some once frozen steak over the weekend? |

Even the most ardent Rex hater cannot help but notice that both the Chargers and Chiefs had completely unblocked shots on the sexy one. |
