Anyone else getting the feeling that after TBS givesthis showthe all out fox like promotional assult it has no chance to live up to the hype? I'm thinking it's off the air before the NFL season wraps up. Before you even start typing, Stink Blow Me!!! It's Sunday Night John, so it belongs in the MJH section. |

Agreed, although I will say that I am interested to see how they fill a half hour time slot with him doing impersonations. |

right....it's better when you can't see him in "costume" i have a feeling many of the bits will be old hat for most of us. |

i have a feeling many of the bits will be old hat for most of us. Sounds like you're expecting a "best of" MJH calls. Maybe Finji can host that too. |

Stink, You know you're all right by me. I was just paraphrasing Grid. I did run out of smokes this morning and didn't get a chance to stop |

All good things in moderation. A continuous half hour of Frank Caliendo may be a bit much. I'm all for 30-60 second segments though. |

its horrible. if there were no writers strike, it would probably be off the air already. even on MJH his stuff gets pretty stale pretty quick, but i generally found it to be at least mildly funny even on his worst day. ive seen bits and pieces of his show and its awful. |

On a side note, he did a promotional interview on the Stern show. He was incredibly funny and I am one of those who hates him on MJH. |

In the Caliendo doing Barkley voice: "It's turrible, just turrible. The exec who put it on is a knucklehead" |

I saw a bit of the Fox NFL pregame yesterday and caught Frank's segment. He took a shot at Joe Buck which was pretty funny. |

2 too many. methinks he should just stick with standup |

He's just overexposed and he's better suited doing stand-up. His act doesn't work well for whatever reason in sketches. I think he relies on how perfect the impression is and thinks that will carry the bad writing. |

it doesnt help his cause that he doesnt look like anyone he impersonates either |

Eh, I thought it was hit and miss. It seems to me a lot of you had your minds made up long before the first episode aired. Come on: "Get women, or get Sean Connery's pity: Guaranteed." That's funny. |

Now Matt, I know you know me better than me, but I actually went into it hoping for it to be funny. I was a fan of his long before MJH ever had him in air. I sat through the entire first episode and I chuckled maybe twice. I kept looking at my girlfriend (also a big fan) during the show; both of us not wanting admit to say it sucked yet...and when it ended she looked at me and was like, "yea, that did suck." I nodded disappointedly. |

I nodded disappointedly. Did you see the second episode? I mean, damn, it's only been two episodes. I remember when Chapelle's show came out; I was a seriously excited, as I loved him in Half Baked. I didn't like that first episode, and I wrote the show off as a disappointment. I didn't watch it again until everyone started talking about it. Turns out, that episode just wasn't a very good one. It too was hit or miss. And my original point stands: there's quite a few people on this board who decided they hated it during the MLB playoffs, and outright said as much. |
