The first 20 minutes of the show was a discussion about S. Waldman.

While I understand the point that breaking down during a report from the Yankee clubhouse is not exactly the height of journalistic professionalism, you must admit that her report conveyed the emotional atmosphere inside extremely effectively, much more so than a simple statement about the somber atmosphere would have.

Sometimes we all need a good cry.

Rob, I am not buying it. She is supposed to be objective and she was a blubbering idiot. It is a fucking job, not cancer, not wife dying, not limbs being lost to diabetes.... I think she sounded like a jaded obsessive subjective reporter.

I lived in the NYC area in 1993-94 - I know everyone is very happy for me - but this woman has been nothing but a Yankee shill for the entire time she's been there. You guys think Hawk or Santo is bad...they got nothing on Suzyn "I changed the spelling of my first name" Waldman. This is not at all out of character for her. It is her schtick as much as "Oh no...he dropped the ball" is for Santo.

It damages her credibility, but it doesn't even call into question, let alone ruin, the credibility of any other female reporter.

Female reporters have a hard enough time as it is.... I can't stand them personally so I think it does damage to the group as a whole...

My Dear Friend HHJ,
I cannot take a female reporter seriously, especially if she has no kids.
I can take it though. I am a man. Or Was.

HHJ,
Sorry, I went a little NSJ (tongue in cheek) on you there.
A reporter opening fire on the students would accuratelly convey the terror of a school shooting, but wouldn't be very professional either.
