26 Foot Jason Taylor Statue in London Posted Oct 22nd 2007 8:19AM by Michael David Smith Filed under: Dolphins, NY Giants, Miami, New York As part of the NFL's efforts to promote Sunday's Giants-Dolphins game in London, the league has unveiled this enormous statue of Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor. The statue was unveiled today in Trafalgar Square, and it will, I guess, get more people in London curious about that game that's usually derided overseas because the players wear a suit of armor and stop for 30 seconds after every five seconds of action. From the city of London's official press release: Remarkably, this feat of engineering has taken just under 10 weeks to construct, with a team of more than 40 people working round the clock to build the superstructure in time for its official unveiling in Trafalgar Square on Monday 22nd October. Weighing in at over a tonne, the Big JT animatronic boasts life-like features and some impressive record-breaking statistics: *Standing at 26ft tall – Big JT is almost the height of two double decker buses stacked on top of each other (the real-life Jason Taylor is 6'6 and weighs 255 lb). *It is the biggest structure of its kind ever built. *The animatronic has moveable feet and arms and travels at 4-5mph – a single Big JT footstep covers nearly 2.5m |

JT better be careful because Hell is coming for breakfast and his name is Anubis.
