Post subject: | Harry & free Bulls tickets |
Question: Does Harry ever consider the fact that many Chicago residents, especially those who live around the United Center, can't afford to go to Bulls games and would love to have free tickets as he boasts about them on the show? I'm sure Harry could afford those high ass prices but many true fans, particularily young African American kids on the West Side, can't. It really makes him sound like a pompous ass when he says he wants AM 1000 to be the flagship station so he can get more free tickets. Then to top it off he tells how sales uses the tickets for clients. While we know this is the case, it only makes the average fans even more upset when they hear a guy like Harry gloating about being privilaged over the airwaves as the rest of us our forced to have three window screens open on our computer as we try to get playoff tickets because they've all gone to corporate lackeys! Fatha, why must I pay for these tickets! Why must I open my coffers to see a bunch of Colored gentleman amuse me for two hours? |

Good point Jason. Maybe Harry should give some Bulls tickets to underprivileged kids. |

Do you really think underprivelaged kids are sitting around listening to ESPN? |

No. The point would be Harry would give some of those tickets to these kids without having it be some prize give away. It's called charity! |

No @ HappyHourJason. But I do think many of their parents are. I also believe that many middle class families can't afford pro sporting events. If a man wants to take his wife and kids to a game, it will cost him a month's mortage after you factor in parking, food, souviners etc... Cubs Suck White Sox Fan 4 Life |

Yea, the Bulls tickets are ridiculously priced. I suppose we are all still paying for Jordan so I guess it's worth it. But again, it's not like Jordan took them to the wood shed as much as he could have. |

I actually think Harry would give tickets to poor kids and their families. Hey may already do so and doesn't brag about it, which would be even more cool. But I think it still takes away from my original point that it makes him sound like a pompous ass when he gets on the radio and says what he does in the tone and manner that he does. He comes off as being greedy. I like Harry as a person, I just think sometimes he forgets that everyone isn't as blessed as he is. White Sox Fan 4 Life Cubs Suck |

any pro sport is priced crazy. between tickets, hotdogs, and maybe a few beers/sodas, you're looking at well over $150 to take a family of 4 to just a baseball game...much less NBA or NFL where the home games per year are far fewer. funny how nobody has suggested that the salaries are a bit out of control yet.. |

I'm sure Harry could easily afford to go to as many games as he liked on his salary. The average listener can probably only afford to go to a handful, maybe even less than that if he has a family. If I thought his comment was meant jokingly, I wouldn't give it a second thought, but given his track record of name dropping and practically begging for free stuff, I'm not the slightest bit surprised at his comment. With all the comped stuff these guys get, you'd think Harry could show a little restraint and not blurt out "Oh boy, free tickets!" at the prospect of getting the Bulls back on AM1000. |

Free things are always great, and he's getting good seats as well. Look at the fans who paid a ton of money for tickets, and then cheer when the Bulls score 100 points so they can win a free Big Mac. |

Poor white kids from the Northwest burbs cants afford them either. I've been lucky enough to go to one playoff game against the Wizards, and about 4 others in the reg. season in the last couple years. Im definitely going to at least a couple Hawks games as well this year tho. |

Definitely one of the funniest Fatha jokes on the board I have seen. |

You often hear Harry talking about how this bar took care of him or how he scored tickets for free. Good for him but why does he need to brag about it? I guess the bars and restaurants do it for the free plug on the air that Harry will most certainly give. Why does he always angle for free stuff. He can afford meals and tickets? Hell, his fatha money is probably greater then his ESPN salary. |

I don't want to brag, but either on October 30th or November 6th I am going to eat one(1) free taco at a participating Taco Bell location. |

After hearing the shocking news that Harry has a half brother, you should all be a little more understanding. His inheritence was greatly diminished just because his dad couldn't bag it when he was with a young chippie. |

If you had any character, you would drive downtown and hand that taco to one of the homeless folks. You're selfish. |

Now if I call Mac, Jurko, and Harry and win Blackhawks tickets I will give them to a homeless person. |
