Wow..I really have no use for the Hawks or Rocky Wirtz and I was wondering if they will be sounding the hockey horn during the interview while Rocky is in studio today?

Come on Finji you have to do it..

There's no way Rocky Wirtz is coming in studio.

Please. Stop the fake interviews. Please.

Is he bringing Tom Boerwinkle with him?

WGN had Wirtz on this week, was a decent interview.

I'm not a huge hockey fan, but I'd enjoy a segment with Rocky. Shed some light on his father's 'no home games on TV' logic (besides protecting the season ticket holders investment) and also let us know what Pully was castrated of his hockey power.

Since I don't know what Rocky Wirtz sounds like, I would never know if they did another fake interview or not (except maybe by all the stupid questions they ask during them).

Unless they use the characters voice from the Rocky and Bullwinkle cartooms

Very touching story by Tiny at the end of the interview. He managed to work in:

* His Fatha' owned race horses.
* His Fatha's partner was best friends with Bill Wirtz.
* As a kid, he got to watch a game(s) in the Sonja Heine suite.
* Bill Wirtz talked to him, and then sent him a game worn Denis Savard jersey.

He learned at a young age that even though your Fatha is wealthy and you're spoiled, other people will still send you free stuff.

Rocky sounds pretty cool, btw. I look forward to people caring about the Blackhawks again in this town.

Evidently, more like Rocky & Bullwinkle than Rocky Balboa.

I've posted in the hockey section that no one reads that Rocky Wirtz has done more for Blackhawks hockey in 3 weeks than his old man did in 40 years. I find it refreshing that he's been in the public eye and getting the word out about the new direction the Hawks are taking and kudos to MJH for having the guy on.

I don't know if can ever get the passion back I once had for this club but I will make a trip to the U.C. for some games over the next few months.I have been to more Red Wings games than I have Blackhawks games in the past 5 years but I think that will change with the new direction of the Hawks.

Mac talked about getting a big group of listeners together and doing a game in the Winter months and I would be up for that. Just don't ask Mac at the Fantasy draft about Hawks hockey. Grid's got a good story about that.

I think if there is a hockey outing, right in the middle of it - out of nowhere - somebody should ask "When are we having our fantasy football draft in 2008?"

It will compete with the Rush outing....

When I originally herd this I thought they were joking (had to check to see if it was April). I didn't listen to the interview (I flipped over the the Spanish station), did they blow the Hockey horn?

I thought it was a pretty good interview he seems very candid:

Jurk: "So did you ever talk to your father about getting the games televised again"

Rocky: "many times"

Jurk: "and how were those conversations"

Rocky: "very short"

Jurk: "and what reasons did he give"

Rocky: "none"

Might have something to do with the fact that the guest was IN studio (and the fact that he's not a moron), but this interview seemed to be void of the some of the usual frustrations (interviewee not really paying attention-type attitude) that are part their typical interviews.
Much better that the Brendan Ayamanasshole interview earlier in the day. He's lucky he career allows him to work in football stadiums because I don't think his head would fit through the door of any office building.

Hopefully he doesn't get knocked up.

Is it possible that the most disliked owner in Chicago sports history can have a son who, quite honestly, has a chance to be one of its greatest owners? What are the odds on something like this - 500-1? 10,000-1?

I am not saying that Rocky is going to end up being beloved, but he is off to an excellent start. I find the POTENTIAL of this story to be fascinating. That a WIRTZ has the chance to catapult hockey back into relevance in Chicago and around the NHL is wild. And the crazy thing is - he seems like he WANTS to do just that. He is - gasp - making an effort!

Am I overdoing this a tad? Yeah, maybe. But this is the Wirtz family we are talking about. This has the chance to be a really, really cool story. I'm not even a big hockey fan, either.

So why did Rocky choose to be in studio on AM1000 and not the Blackhawks flagship station The Score? Did I miss that interview?

I thought this was a very good interview as well. It's nice to know that the CEO of your hockey team has a sense of humor. Leave it to Tiny to try and earn a few points with the new man in charge by offering up that story about Bill Wirtz. Anyone notice how they really didn't let Rocky respond to it expect to talk about the jersey not fitting Harry any more?

I'm also looking forward to Comcast's coverage of Sunday's game against the Red Wings. They're bringing out all the bells and whistles for the telecast. I just hope I have time to watch it.

He was on there several days ago already. It just took the ESPN1000 braintrust some time to break down after realizing that the Blackhawks are the only winning professional team in Chicago right now.
