Hey Mackey is "The Show" over? I read in Feders piece today the a radio version of "PTI" with Wilbon and Kornhieser will follow your show weekdays at 7pm. I think it's horseshit if that is the case..I enjoy Carm and Hoddie and the LOCAL programming in the evening.. FILL us in ...... http://www.suntimes.com/business/feder/ ... 11.article |

Will Kornheiser act like he doesn't want to be on the radio as he does with the tv program? Most of that show isn't even about sports anymore, it's more pop culture fluff. I figured some of the stuff you guys have talked about this week has been because Chicago sports are a little dead right now, but it seems your bosses have this station going in a different direction. Please tell your bosses if they want to manage a radio station that doesn't talk about sports to go find a radio station that isn't suppose to be dedicated to sports. I understand wanting more listeners but this sucks. Plus it's very shitty for Carmen, Hood, and JD who I think have had a very good show. |

The only thing the score has over MVP is that when you're getting some bullshit national coverage (IE coverage on the Patriots, Cowboys and the Yankees and Red Sox) on MVP you can always get some local flavor on SCR. At least after 9. |

I think the PTI thing is on for 30 minutes according to Ted Cox. I don't know what is programmed after that but I would prefer to hear the local boy's after Mac, Jurko and Harry. I really like Jd, and Carm and they are very good guys and I would like to see them get a shot and do well.I have yet to meet Hoodie and I'm sure he's a great guy as well and I do like him with Carm. Put the national crap on about 11PM and bring back Les Grobstien in the over night hours and you have a Happy guy here. I know Mac knows that the Bristol programming does not fly here in Chicago and we are a very fickle city when it comes to other sports towns and I can't figure out for the life of me why people think we give a fuck about the east coast here. I listen to Tircco because it's 2 hours and they talk football and Im not a fan of the Scores talent so I choose the lesser evil I guess. |

Mariotti was just on with Waddle and Silvy too. ...Mariotti of ESPN's Around the Horn. interesting... After an hour of MJH Re-rack, and PTI for a half hour or an hour, THE SHOW will have absolutely zero lead-in. |

Personally, this doesn't affect me much because I'm home by that time. I don't like PTI on television so I assume I won't like it on the radio. But this does suck for Carm, JD and Hoodie. Maybe they'll slot one or a pair of them in the 12 - 2 time slot. |

Yesterday's show it seemed like Harry notified Mac on air about PTI coming to the evening lineup. Mac was obviously pissed and for the most part bit his tongue regarding his displeasure about the new line-up change. |

Justin Craig will do whatever Bristol wants him to do. There's nothing he'd love more than to move back to the Northeast and continue to climb the ladder by taking on a national job with ESPN radio. |

If Ted's right, that would be okay. I'm surprised they wouldn't try to cut into Finji's recap thingie instead. Still, if he's wrong and its like a 2-hour show, if you compare that to the Score doing Blackhawks and ESPN 1000 doing Bulls, I can see wanting to do syndicated material instead of keeping talent to run when the games aren't on. Hell, chop Tirrico and go local for 2 hours midday if you want your JD Hood & Carm (in whatever combos) |

Whatever. Those are my thoughts. It's pretty clear they don't give a rat's ass about local programming - they have to jam ESPN national stuff down our throats whenever they can. The 6PM to 11PM thing is a programming mess right now. Just run MJH from 2-6PM, then The Show from 6-9 or10PM then go national.... |

Agreed with Beefy. That 6-7 hour kinda sucks. I'd rather hear the Show. |

Really? Justin is most likely the one who pulled the plug on Salisbury and Rosenbloom. Let's give him some credit where it's due. I'm initally not excited about this PTI thing, but if it's only a half hour that wouldn't be bad. MVP is in much better shape that it was when Justin first got here. |

You're not the only one, FavreFan. However, it would probably be better if they had the show on at maybe 6:30, and cut the MJH replays to just a half hour, or give the 6-6:30 half hour to just let Finji rant on the day in sports and screw the reruns. Then at 7 have The Show. |

In theory, I like your idea, but I can't see that ever happening. The 6pm hour is still considered drive time as far as ratings go. The MJH replay probably will get a much higher rating than a live PTI. As much as I wouldn't mind listening to Finfer during the 6pm, I'm betting a MJH reply still does better than Finji live. PTI at 7 followed by maybe The Show at 7:30 just seems awkward. Why don't they move PTI to 10:30, so I can listen to Tony and Wilbom preview the night's game, just like I can with Stephan A. at 11 and Patrick at 10p on 670. |
