Here it is just a couple days from Valentines day (Which happens to also be Elmhurst Steve's birthday-There, I referred to myself in the third person for the first time) and many of us are wondering what to get wives, girlfriends, etc.. for Valentines day. We could take the commercial advice of Jurko, and get her a massage-By the way Jurko, did the $100.00 massage you have previously paid for, come with a happy ending?? Just asking... OR we could opt for Pro flowers as Harry has suggested, which he claims are grown by elves and fairies. I didn't know Silvy was growing flowers, but it's an option. Or we could go with Sily's commercial suggestion of pajama's. But taking advice from a guy who has no Valentines Day date, and who's waterbed is nicknamed the Dead Sea (Not a lot of motion on that ocean) seems dubious. Then there's Mac-he goes and takes his wife to Hawaii!!! Come on, Mac. Give us a break. Your'e setting the bar a bit high here. Oh well, I can always take Sally to the islands. Rock Island, Blue Island........ Seemed appropriate to include Mac's line there. |

Sweetest Day is a Hallmark holiday. Tommorow is really St Valentine's day, who is the patron saint of: affianced couples, against fainting, bee keepers, greeting card manufacturers, happy marriages, love, plague, travellers, young people http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Valentine |

We will be doing Critics at 3:20 and 5:20 as always. We let the kids try it out this morning, but we have to show them how it is really done. |

Yes, the trip to Vegas last year. But, we got 2 1099's. I hunted down the first, which was miller. They said that they taxed us on the flight, hotel, and spending money. Fine, that's what we did. But then I got another one from "Sports Radio Chicago LLC". The # on the 1099 wouldn't let you leave a message so I faxed them and never heard back. So, my research on that place landed me at ESPN, so I called. I don't know what else they can tax us for as Miller taxed us for what we actually did do.... |

Why don't you write a letter to the Fixer? BTW, Miller isnt taxing you, the government is. When you win prizes worth more than $600 you have to pay taxes, local and federal. |

Well, they read the first part..... Here is the rest. CJH, Thumbs Up to the MotherShip for apparently deciding to end the practice of sideline reporting during Monday night football, though it appears that Michele Tafoya and Suzy “I want to kiss you” Kolber will remain as “game day” reporters. Thumbs Down to Pro Flowers.com for the misleading ad campaign. Sure I can get the two dozen roses, the chocolates and the vase for $39.99 if I type “Harry” or “Jurko” after clicking the microphone at the top right corner. But, wait kids…..There’s more! How about an additional $12.92 for standard express delivery? An additional $9.99 for the guaranteed Valentines Day delivery, because who wants flowers on the 13th or 15th? And wrap that up with another $5.50 in taxes for a grand total of $68.40. Thumbs down to me for purchasing them anyway…. doug – evergreen park |

Especially because those additional fees are probably lining the pockets of Harry and Jurko..... |

That's a typical advertising ploy. They just want to get you to call. That's half the battle. Hell, they got you anyway Doug. The ploy worked. Everybody eventually gets the true cost on the phone. So you can make your decision. I'm sure a lot of people don't get it once they get the true cost. |
