Okay I've been told I really should give these guys a try. As anyone who has known me as a fellow Scorehead over the years I am NOT a Sox fan. During March B and B will be preempted often by Sox games. I have listened sometimes to M J and H. What are some of the similarities and some of the differences? I did enjoy McNeil on the Score with Boers. |

Beef HUH? Don't quite get the question but I'm slow today. I should have elaborated more and asked What are the things I'll like about the show as a B and B listener and what are the things I'll find different. I just wish one of the shows was on 10-2 instead of Mully and Hanley and Mike Murphy to listen to. |

I misread the question sorry Beef. It's the way some chose to spell their nickname. Some Johnathons are Jons and some are Johns. And some are Jacks. And some call themselves Jennifer at times late at night dressed in certain ways. |

What are some of the similarities and some of the differences? We have actually talked about this quite a bit Steph. I was a big fan of B&B when they were on in the mornings.I had the best of both worlds where I got to listen to B&B in the mornings and MJH in the afternoons.I no longer have that luxury. MJH is the over all better show because they don't beat a topic for a 4 hour show and mAC HAS A SEGMENTED show that flows and that's not to say B&B is bad because I still turn them on when MJH is either on vacation or Harry is annoying me. Bernstien tends to want to bang the drum on social issues in sports ,Steroids, arrests , strip club incidents ect...That type of sports radio is what I despise and the reason I can't stand the national shows on ESPN. I could care less about Roger Clemens and Steroids but B&B devoted 3 hours to the subject the other day and I can get that on ESPN T.V. and the national show and it's not for me. Mac refuses to bring that type of programming to his show and I applaud that ..Nothing worse in sports radio than bantering around social issues and have your moron listeners call up and argue those points. BAD RADIO. A lot of B&B detractors get upset the way they treat dumb callers and their listners in general but I find that to be the funny part of the show.I find Bernstein to be in the same catogory as Harry in where people either love him or hate him and that's not all bad as you need that type of mix to be succesful sometimes. Bottom line is they are both very good shows but in my opinion MJH is a better all around program. |

I've listened to B&B a few times (mostly on MJH breaks). The "dumb caller" thing can be funny sometimes, but a lot of the time, I've heard them ripping on a caller for not having the same opinion as them. Then, they'll often hang up on someone who is making valid points. Also, they seem to like to set up callers. I've heard a number of callers get on the air relating to something they misheard, then B&B rip them apart. It just seems like they weren't able to come up with anything for certain segments, so they decided to let some morons callers on the air, for the sole purpose of ripping on them. Keep it. |

OK, I'm kinda buying this story. Are you the B&B caller "Steph" I can almost hear Bernsie's boxers tighten up over the air whenever he talks to you. If so, your voice tone and inflection make you sound like kin of these folks? If not, please elaborate on your height, weight and cup size. |

Well, on the plus side, ESPN 1000 is staffed mostly by closeted gay homosexuals. And gays are more interesting to listen to than straights. on the negative side, ESPN 1000 hosts almost always live in the burbs and so have a different, duller day to day life experience than their city dweller listeners. also on the down side, ESPN 1000 hosts usually prefer talking movies or where to get their hair and nails done rather than sports. |

Beef I'm hardly the looker that guys get their shorts all tight about although I'm working on it. I haven't called the show in a long time. Occasionally I sent an email that gets read on air but I work and have them on my headphones. I used to be one of Dan's only regulars when he was just a fill in host. He and I are almost exactly the same age and a lot of his cultural references from growing up make me laugh. For example I do remember the chicken who played the piano at Santa's Village. |

It will be interesting who I chose to give my ears to after March. I as I said just wish one of the shows was on 10-2 instead of 2-6. From what I hear they are the 2 best shows on Chicago sports radio. |

They are, which why they won't be on from 10-2. More listeners from 2-6 or 7 than in the morning. |

I drive by Santa's Village regularly on my way to and from work, it's pretty pathetic looking now. The only thing left (of note) is that shack in the front of the joint. That would make a helluva 'fort' in somebody's backyard for their kids - but it would probably be cheaper just to build it from scratch. I thought the chicken played checkers btw. |

I find Jim Rome despicable. I'd rather get my teeth pulled out without anesthetic while being hit on the head with a mallet and forced to watch Barney. |

I didn't realize people had the same routine as I would have listening to Pappy. |

I stopped listening to B/B 3 years ago. Now I think most of the Score regular lineup is awful. MJH is the only local sports show I regularly listen to anymore. They actually let you state your opinion and do not try to act like they are experts. Are B/B still doing Who you crappin? If they are then that's all you need to know about what a brutal show they are doing. |
