Brandon Lloyd signed with the Bears for a 1 year deal. He didnt do much last year in Washington(sound familiar?), but I like the deal. He's clearly gunning for a long term deal, and that should provide extra motivation this year. He has amazing hands but terrible focus. He should be able to stretch the field and get big catches on 3rd downs. I like him more than Booker. Nice line by Mac, "Bears continue their usual policy, giving players in their mid twenties one year deals and their thirty somethings multi year deals." |

Love it. But before anyone accuses me in being biased, I'll just come out and say it. Yes, I'm biased! |

He should fill Moose's role of underperforming WR very well. I hope this does not stop the Bears from drafting a WR in the first two rounds. A halfway decent signing, but I would predict that Marty Booker will end up being more productive next year. |

I don't like this signing. It's not fair to the rest of the league. You're reuniting Ron Turner's muse. Lloyd is Pamela Courson to Turner's Jim Morrison. Minimum eight-peat. |

He did well for my ffl two years ago, its a nothing signing, if he does well, great, if not, gone next year. The bears are going to suck next year, gotta find something to do with my Sundays. |

It's never been a talent issue with Lloyd, it's always been more a focus issue. He never really got out of Joe Gibbs's doghouse in Washington. He's probably worth taking a flyer on, and he's definitely better than Rashied Davis, so at least there's that. |

I can just hear it now.......Brandon Floyd, you are ridiculous. Actually, if healthy and as irish said, interested in playing, he can catch 60-70 passes a year. |

He'll prove to be an upgrade over Rashied Davis - but won't replace him on special teams. One year deal - no biggie... Brandon Lloyd is to Ron Turner what Adam Archuleta was to Lovie Smith last year - a mistake trying to help out a former player. |

Aaron Moorehead is still out there. We're bringing the band back together. It would be great to hear the chant return to Soldier Field "We want More-Head". As a child I had no idea what those people were saying or why my dad sitting next to me cringed. |

And our receivers had terrible hands and terrible focus. Lloyd might be a bit of an upgrade. |

Dear Bigfan please delete ever other area of the board and collapse everything in here. As long as MJH, producers, interns, their spouses or kids mention something it is relevant in here (i.e. everything). With the exception of Ugueth's Friday Boredom Thread. That should have it's own area. |

If Brandon Lloyd is your #2, your team will be a pile of #2. |

If the season were to start today, I'd say that Bradley would be your #1 and Booker would be your #2 (only in the sense that Bradley would be your split end type while Booker would be your flanker, Booker probably receiving the majority of the passes), but the season isn't going to start today. There'll be a draft pick in there, and he'll probably start as your #2 with Booker as #1, moving to the split end spot, unless Bradley shows something in the off-season stuff and camp, in which case your pick is your slot guy with Davis, Lloyd and Hester competing for the remaining spots. If Bradley doesn't pan out, you're opening day WR lineup is likely to be: Booker Draft Pick Lloyd or Rashied Davis or Bradley in the slot Hester barring any additional FA moves. |

The Bears won't have a true number one WR unless the rookie they draft immediately comes in and has a major impact. I wouldn't expect this but if they get one in the first or second round I would expect him to be productive right away. I personally don't think Berrian was a number one WR as he wasn't a game breaker. I think Booker will be an upgrade over Moose, especially if you add in attitude. Berrian vs. a rookie will be a downgrade in the short term but an upgrade in the long term. I'd rather have a chance at a top 10 WR in a couple of years over a WR who will be never better than top 25 in Berrian. I'll be very happy if they get James Hardy in round 2. I'm not too worked up about the Bears offensive issues as some others on here seem to be. They weren't a great offense last year, and probably won't be next year. It's still all about the defense. |

Agreed. When a Brandon Lloyd signing causes debate about how our WRing group will be sorted, it pretty much ensures that it's a very bad group. |

I don't expect a big contribution from a rookie WR, no matter the round. It's probably even less likely on the Bears than other teams because they aren't a good passing team to begin with. You are correct - the Bears don't have a #1 WR, and they probably don't have a #2 WR as well. That could change depending on if Bradley or Hester develop, but it looks to me like they are just trying to have as many options as possible, more of a spread the wealth passing game than having anything of a 'go to guy'. |
